5 good games for the price of 1? Actually I'm going to say 4 since Episode 2 is way too short I'm throwing it in with 2

User Rating: 9 | The Orange Box PS3
The Orange Box contains Half Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episodes 1 & 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Portal and Team Fortress 2 are the two original games in this set. Now that's 5 games right there for only $20 even better if you can buy it used for cheaper. you have to be crazy to pass up on that deal. All 5 of the games are fun at that.

I had zero experience with Half-Life 2 before I got this, so it was an opportunity for me to try out a game that was and still is revered by PC gamers. When I was beginning the game I thought it was okay. I was off the game for a little while because I was stuck at one part that involved puzzle solving. That portion of the game for me I thought could've have been done better. That was the first time in the game that you had to solve a puzzle to advance so it was confusing when you came to it without any prior experience. The puzzle I was referring to was trying to cross a radio waste tainted swamp. You had to use these blue barrel things to raise the bridge so you could create a ramp to get across. From that point onward I didn't have much trouble with the game.

It is a well designed FPS. I really did have fun with it and I was interested somewhat in the plot. I liked Alyx Vance as a supporting character. Half-Life 2 was really long for a FPS. All that I could remember from Episode 1 was that it was too short. The game was fun, but too short. Episode 2 was more lengthy, but still shorter than Half-Life 2. These games fit better as a single game than two. After beating both Episodes it had me wanting for an episode 3.

Now on to Portal. Portal is a clever and well designed puzzle game. It puts you into the body of a woman used as a lab subject by a computer AI. The only relationship you'll have with any characters in this game is the computer AI known as GlaDos. She is an amusing character with dark humor. On my first playthrough I found the game to be too challenging, but on my 2nd playthrough I found it too easy. The game is short, which I understand because I heard it was an experimental game made by college students. It's entertaining from beginning to end though.

Team Fortress 2 is the multiplayer game of this package. A class based FPS. I had a lot of fun with this. The classes on PS3 are Scout (Light and Fast), Pyro (Uses an axe and flamethrower) Medic (The Healer), Sniper (Snipes), Engineer (Builds turrets and teleporters) Demolitioner (Uses bombs) Solider (Basic class), Spy (Disguises himself as other players and can turn invisible) and Heavy (slow, but strong uses a gatling gun)

These classes are well balanced and all fun to play. At first I was a sniper player, but later found out that I sucked at sniping. I then moved on to being a pyro which I found that I was decent at then I moved on to a Heavy which I found love. There are about three game types and five maps for the PS3 version. Many people have told me that I should've gotten the PC version which I guess is true, since I'm told that Team Fortress 2 still gets updated for it constantly.

All in all this is a spectacular package that you can't pass up. I might have to review the PC one someday.
