Looks cool but theres a little game called Skyrim coming out not sure if anybodys herd about it but i just mightttttt be spending all my time playing it ,)
I am a Tolkien fanatic, read all his works (except for a handful of random letters and essays), and I think this game is going to be epic beyond words. Don't expect to find your favorite characters from the movies here folks, very unlikely most of them will even appear, if not be mentioned in a cut scene. Like someone else said, this game will touch on a lot of rarely mentioned stuff while taking its own liberties with the lore. Not necessarily a bad thing, but they better not screw it up. It's almost impossible to screw up a world that's already been made for you (in a game, at least). I will never buy Snowblind again if this turns into epic fail.
Wow thats looks cool, all that blood and gore it will surely get banned in Australia....oh well would have been nice!
Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... and the sun rises! Ride now... Ride now... Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending!
is it just because i'm demented, or does anyone else like the sound of a sword cutting through ann orc... just me? OK I am demented
Jokes and Kudos aside, a little bit of trivia here is that of all of Tolkien's creatures, the stone giant as depicted at the end is one of his most rarely spoken of creatures who receives but a single brief mention in The Hobbit during Thorin and Company's ascent up the Misty Mountains. Snowblind is obviously taking a very liberal working process on Tolkien's world with this game in not only their own character creations but by including creatures that were rarely spoken of let alone encountered such as the undead whose battles were only spoken of in LOTR alone and the aforementioned stone giants who were but mentioned and nothing more leads one to wonder what other rarities from Tolkien's works will be included in this game along with the usual canon creations. It would be awesome to be a Beorning.
Looks good to me! The one thing they need more in gameplay nowadays, is slow motion! In the video, right before a clash, they had slow-mo going, and it almost gave me goose bumps. Or right after killing a nastier baddy, have a small zoom close sequence and cool slow-mo... I will be happy with or without it on this game tho! Keep up the good work peeps!
Surprised me, and exceeded my expectation. Yea you say graphically it doesn't look great, I think it's mainly because of the "grimy/dark/gothic" look. Whatever you want to call it. As long as graphics aren't that far behind, what really matters is how does it play. If it's satisfying to kill and kill and to rack new weapons/armor and the coop experience is not limited, than this will be a good game. I care so much more for quality game-play these days over graphics. Games these days typically don't lack in graphic quality, it's the game-play that usually ends up sucking because they rushed the project. For example, "Left 4 Dead" using the freaking half-life 2 engine, graphically not the best if you were to compare it to games today. They some how make up for it by making it look great, but really it's the game-play that wins you over.
Pretty good looking... however I can't help but think though how amazing a LOTR game would be with a Demon's Souls style combat system.
