this is a perfect compliment to the movie and is great in most aspects, just few problems get in the way.

this as said, is a simple action game at heart, but it's the lotr liscense that makes this game so cool. you got your simple action controls, fast attack, strong attack, parry, ranged, and a melee (physical) attack. simple, but outrageously fun. the game follows the movie's story line almost exactly the same with a few variations for gameplay purposes. scenes from the movie are integrated into the game and transit seamlessly. one very major problem with the game is the camera. you got no control over the camera and at times can be very frustrating. especailly in co-op, cuz one plyaer cant progress if the other player is somehwere else. as you play you get xp which level up your character and can purchase upgrades for your character. your character levels up pretty easily but you can definitely feel the change in power. of course the graphics of the game are nothing compared to the visuals in the movie but they're passable. they animate smoothly, the characters lookl ike their real world counterparts and the effects of fire, dust, and sorts are very wel done. the sound is the real highlight here. the lotr music is all here and most of the actors offered their vocie for the game. effects are good as well. the game is not that long even with the various characters you can unlock and play as. theres co-op whihc is where the real replay value stands, and there are some peiple who would want to maximise all the charcters' stats. the difficulty can get maddening sometiems and with teh checkpoints quite far apart, it can get quite tedious. but this game is really fun nonetheless and is a great game for lotr fans.
