User Rating: 7.8 | The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King PS2
Sound: Pretty much taken from the movies; unobtrusive and quite good. Graphics: Very good. I'm using an ATI 9700 All in Wonder with 4X AntiAliasing and 8X Anistopic Filtering turned on. All the bells and whistles turned on in the Game Video Options. Only complaint is that I would have liked an additional option for a 3rd person perspective ala Max Payne or Jedi Knight. Gameplay: Very Linear "mouse in a simple maze"- what game isn't nowadays? It does give you the limited choice of which chapter to play. Depending on the chapter you may even have a choice of characters. Controls: Very easy with a gamepad. I'm using a Trustmaster FireStorm Dual Analog 3 Gamepad. The keys are arranged a bit differently than the "manual" (it's really a pamphlet). Think of this game as an interactive movie rather than a roleplay/first person shooter or even action/adventure game. I'd say it's worth $35-$39. I doubt you'd find it at that price.
