This game was very successful on graphics and game play, due to it's time. In my opinion it improved well on the first game in the series, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth. However there are a few things you might miss. But all of this is compensated by the new strategic game type "War of the Ring" and Build a Hero. The strategic points also have changed for the good, for example you can send your troops out on a patrol and build your castle walls however you like. The battalions are bigger and you can organise their position. The graphics are also very well designed. The Create a Hero tool allows you to create a hero of any type, whether it's a dwarf, a man, an elf, an orc, a goblin or a troll. You can edit how they look and change their skill points or you could see the recommended settings. You can also give them powers such as summon allies or turn enemy soldiers into animals! So in my opinion it's a very good all round strategy game for the fans of Lord of the Rings!
