The Lord of the Rings: Conquest User Review
Picked this up for 15 bucks. Found single player modes to be extremely weak while multiplayer modes were really fun.

Overall, I thought the game was fairly fun and it was really a steal for 15 bucks. The game has a really good idea behind it, but in the end, it just was not pulled off very well and is at its core not very strong.
While a good deal, the game has its problems. If you were looking for cinematic gameplay, go look somewhere else. The game's graphics are pretty dated at this point and they feel underdone and cheap. Some mechanics of the game just seem broken. You just feel ripped off when your fire bomb attack blows up on the head of the guy in front of you.
On the plus side the game's multiplayer is extremely fun. If you want to play through the campaigns I would definitely suggest bringing a friend over. This adds a whole new dimension to the game play and inevitably negates some of the negative aspects of the single player experience. The online mode is also fun, it feels like the game developers put some serious thought into it.
In the end, if you are a die-hard lord of the rings fan, give it a rent. The fact that you get to play as Sauron and the Balrog is sure to get any lord of the rings fan excited. If you're not a fan of lord of the rings, just skip it. In the long run it will just provide you with more frustration than fun.

Doesn't live up to either Lord of the Rings nor Star Wars Battlefront 2. Probably the most disappointing game ever made.

Based on the Novel book of the same name this game is an A-RPG (Action Role Playing Game) released in 1994 in US and 1995 in Europe. Your goal in the game is to do plenty of repetitive Fletch quests in order to recruit allies to your party.Posted Jun 15, 2011
