The Legend of Zelda is... god. The series is just SO GOOD. In more recent times I've found myself being more critical of the series. Twilight Princess felt a little trapped in the past, Phantom Hourglass was repetitive and Skyward Sword missed the mark as much as it hit it. But man, the sheer quality of the series as a whole, from start to finish, is just unmatched as far as I'm concerned. The original, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, the Oracle duo, The Wind Waker. It's unbelievable that one series can have this many truly fantastic games. I have to agree with Tom McShea, the original, A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time are just outright some of the best games ever made. If I had to point to any one game, that at the time of its release was as perfect as it could possibly be, I'd point to Ocarina of Time. I still get emotional thinking about playing the game for the very first time. A Link to the Past just blew my mind. The Wind Waker still gives me chills. Link's Awakening is still the unsurpassed king of portable gaming.
The greatest video game series of all time. Without question as far as I'm concerned. The series made me a gamer, developed my passion for gaming. I can't praise it enough.
