Awful unresponsive controls do their best to try to ruin a breath taking addition to the Zelda series.

User Rating: 8.5 | The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess WII
Twilight Princess is everything you could ever want out of a Zelda game story wise. It's a unique story to the series, it's paced extremely well, it's characters are lovable and memorable, and it's ending is moving. Length wise the game is long for a Zelda game but that isn't a negative, it's the perfect length for the game.

Gameplay wise Twilight Princess is right up there with past entries in the series. Zelda has always been about it's dungeons, and this entry in the series does not fail to deliver fun and exciting ones. The wide array of new usable items really help to keep the game feeling fresh as well. Boss fights are about course for the series with the usual formula still being the norm.

What really hurts this game though is the absolutely frustrating and dreadful controls. The lack of an attack button and the poor aiming system will constantly have you wanting to rip your hair out due to the frustration they cause. Why Nintendo did not give us classic controller support for this game I will never understand. Using the clawshot generally requires 5-6 attempts each time thanks to the aiming system and you will constantly be bombarded with "point the Wii remote at the screen" when you haven't moved the Wii remote at all.

It's likely this game could have gotten a 9.0+ if not for the controls. The only other real negatives to the game are the score which isn't bad or anything just not really up to the extremely high standards set by past Zelda games, and the fairly uninteresting side quests.

Overall Twilight Princess is a must play for fans of the series and those looking to enjoy the sprawling adventure and great story the game brings. However I do recommend playing it on the Gamecube where the controls are not the dread they are on the Wii.
