Doom 3 is an amazing looking game that is unfortunately bogged down by repetitive gameplay.

The game has amazing graphics; with very well done lighting effects that give the game a great horror feel. The game doesn’t have much in the way for music, but what’s there is good. The guns sound good, and are very loud and its well know when you fire your gun if the volume on your TV is to loud because it’s the loudest part of the game. There is some pretty lousy voice acting in the voice recordings of the personal data holders, that sound more like a director commentary on a DVD then the reports of people scared for their life. I was waiting for one of the readers on the voice portions to screw up and, instead of saying that they were a weapons expert on Mars, to accidentally say that they’re the art director of Doom 3 or something.
The game is long, with many levels, but on this game it’s not such a good thing because of how dull the repeated levels are. The game would be more enjoyable with less levels of the same old walk down a hallway and shoot creatures till the next one. Overall, I did like the game, but it should have been more innovative with challenges and level designs and more aspects of gameplay then just shoot the great looking monsters. The graphics are great and should definitely be checked out, but you’ll probably find the game monotonous and tiresome after the first 5 to 10 levels.
