User Rating: 8.6 | The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap GBA
Zelda: Minish starts off with you as Link, who's donning the Wind Waker look in this game. Link is childhood friends with Zelda, a princess, and the game begins with the two of them going to a festival together. After the end of the festival's sword fighting compitition, a mysterious boy named Vaati wins the festival, and he then turns Zelda into stone, breaks the only weapon that can stop him, and sets out to find the "light force". Link is given the task of repairing the Picori Blade so he can stop Vaati and lift the curse on Zelda. And so begins another adventure. Along the journey, Link finds a talking hat that can shrink you down to size. The graphics are some of the best I've seen on the Game Boy Advance. Everthing looks great when you're regular size, but things look even better when you shrink down. The environment from a tiny perspective looks just incredible. You see giant blades of grass, giant leaves, giant acorns, even giant books, all of which are very detailed. The sound is also great. I really enjoyed some of the music. The one thing I was disappointed in was the length of the game. After you beat a few dungeons, you're all of a sudden in the final dungeon. I found that somewhat hard to believe, given how long Link to the Past was. I couldn't beat Link to the Past for months. Don't get me wrong. Minish Cap is great, and I would recommend buying it, but it's just too short. If it was longer, It could have been something very special.
