GDC 2009: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Official Trailer (DS)

It almost looks like the first one, just with a train instead of a boat and some different abilities. I think I'll wait for the Twilight Princess sequel.

What a great idea to join zelda and link together. I wanted to get this i really did, but i don´t have the ds. Legend of Zelda ROCKS!

Personally I can't wait to get this game. As for those of you who are making a fuss about the fact that link is driving a train, well people didn't like it when he started sailing a boat, but it turned out fine. In short just give it a chance it may surprise you!

The game looks superb, for a DS game. I really hope there is a lot of different dungeons, and fix what was wrong with PH. + I can foresee Spirit tracks selling as good as PH, even with Link being a conductor :P

Well, is Link on a train really still LoZ? I mean nothing against the game. it looks kinda fun, but it doesn't seem to fit into the setting and idea of LoZ to my mind... I still love the three great 3D adventures OoT, MM and TP.

link now drives a train, well, we've seen it all now. Btw, LoZ is the best series EVER!

So this is like part 3 to Wind Waker? Wind Waker = 1 Phantom hourgass 2? and this is 3? cant wait for the storyline on this

Zomg I have to get it!!!! And um hey I was playing PH a couple of days ago I am about to defeat bellum like the first part and all but the little hourglass once Ceila or w/e gets her memory back how does that work in the cheat thing or w/e it said when it turns orange but it neevr turned orange can zomeone help me?

It won't be good if zooming around the tracks take up a grand total of 2 hours of gameplay time. One theory is the entirety of the overworld will be traveled by train linking towns, caves, and dungeons in a more defined version of Phantom Hourglass. I saw something in the above that looked like Lost Woods 70,000, so if they made the map as huge as Rohan and did the same with a grassland, mountain, water, etc. level it could be considered alright...

The gameplay is almost 100% guaranteed to be good, so what if there's a magic train?

@WithinZero. actually, it's On foot Horse Sail Boat Steam Boat Train Looking at it this way, I don't see a problem with the train. Looks a lot more fun that the boat.

im noticing a trend legend of zelda early series=horse windwaker-hourglass=boat spirit tracks-x=train x-y=plane y-z=ufo??? link is moving though technology thru the entire series

new zelda for wii please! no more of this ds crap! I loved wind waker, but the ds ones arent really like it because its too much like gameboy zeldas: non immersive and therefore, boring. plus, this whole train thing looks absolutely ridiculous.

the cell shaded graphics bring back sweet memories of windwaker, i can't wait

It doesn't make sense to have Link in a tunic and then riding a train. I really don't need to see Zelda meets the Industrial Age

wow this game looks like a piece of crap compared to it predecessors zelda sure has gone down hil since ocarina of time which really a shame i use to be a zelda fan but each game since ocarina of time has been garbage and don't get me started on twilight princess it was just a rehash of ocarina of time with a couple of new thing added

I hope the final boss is gannondorf im getting sick of bosses like the one in Phantom hourglass. and i hated the wind temple! and what happened to master sword? it wasnt in PH

i loved the PH i couldn't stop playing it, i feel that the last installment was abit short, i just hope they making it longer and give you some more mind being puzzles, the one that got me was where you had to shut the ds to move that map symbol across lol

Yay! this looks good. I can't wait for the release date to be announced. At first I thought the train idea was a bit stupid, but now I've realised it could be really cool; like if they made the train fully customisable with hundreds of little things to collect and put on your train. And also it would be cool if you could hire little pirates and fighters to ride on your train and help you with quests, AND, if you could go online and fight with/against other people around the world. And here's something else I thought about: the DS has speakers right? Yup. And the DS has a mic. right? Yup. 'Ahem' "VOICECHAT" please Nintendo?. So yeah, there are a few things that the new zelda should have, although it's likely none of that will happen and we'll be left with a traditional zelda; oh well either way is fine with me. Zelda kicks ass! (Not literally...).

These little DS zelda adventures are getting old. PH was cool and fun but when i think about how epic wind waker for the GC was it makes these games feel like a let down. And the train idea was a little stupid. I would love to see that future zelda game come out. But no it was just a stupid april fools joke.... They are just trying too get the kids to play these little DS adventure games and its stupid. TP Was pretty awsome but for some reason i liked wind waker more. I think the next zelda game to come out is going to be for the Wii perhaps....I hope....

i bet this game will be set at the same time as ww on the alternate time line

Looks really cool but the train part looks like crap. I miss the boat.

I like these wacky side quest Zelda games, from my experience they have always been the best (Links Awakening, Minish Cap etc.) as long as you don't end up fighting Ganon to save Zelda and have her bake you a cake I'm cool.
