Check out the The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer, which premiered at Comic-Con.
@YearoftheSnake5 Oh, I will, it's just that I think Nintendo should at least attempt at an HD Zelda game to keep up with the times. There's so much potential for a gritty Zelda game here.
@dawnofhero If you want to play something that looks like Skyrim, go play Skyrim.
I think I'll enjoy it, but I still feel like this is a step backwards for the franchise. I want another game with the same artistic style and darker story that Twilight Princess offered. Maybe they could do a direct sequel (I'd love to see Midna again). I like how they're doing the same thing that they did with windwaker in terms of putting large expanses of something other than land in between the towns and dungeons. Water was a nice change of pace and I look forward to flying whatever that was that Link fell off of.
@psycho75 The artistic side of Skyward Sword isn't bad by any means, 'bad' implying that it's poorly made, but this style just wasn't what I was hoping for in a Zelda game. I was hoping for something more Skyrim-like, but this is the Wii we're talking about here, not Xbox or a PC, so I understand that Nintendo is sadly limited by their hardware. But, my interest in the story remains high, regardless of my opinion on how the characters have been designed. If anything, I would play it for the story's sake.
I'm actually incredibly intrigued by this game as it will apparently tell the story of the creation of the Master Sword. Though wouldn't that mean that Skyward Sword is a prequel to the entire Zelda franchise? I probably shouldn't think about Zelda continuity too much, though. That, and since I'm getting this game, I'll finally have the excuse to get Red Steel 2 of already owning MotionPlus.
I like zelda games.....I beat just about all of them....and each zelda game has it's own experience that deserves credit....I can't say there was a zelda game that I disliked, but sure there where some that I enjoyed a little bit more than the other....I know this one is going to be good and when I play it, I can categorize how "well" it stacks up against other zeldas....but definintely this is going to be....awesome sauce!!
@dawnofhero Ok now u at least show some consistent opinion,i do not agree but i can respect that...but i must say that are a lot of other aspects to consider judging a game, specially a Zelda. I am 36 old,23 of gaming and when i want a more mature experience i have a lot of other options like ES or DA,my point is Zelda have a unique style and personality HD graphics or not, when it comes to design u are on your right to like it or not but u as an artist and we as gamers must welcome this diversify, sometimes less could be more...
@psycho75 Look, Link is a Hylian, not an elf, first of all. Second, it's a little disturbing to see Link in this... feminine state. I get that the majority of elves in fantasy tales are more fair-looking than other races, but this is a little over the edge here. I feel like Nintendo doesn't know how to properly design Link or something. I could make Link look better on paper, that's how I feel. And another thing; I'm not sexist. I just notice these kind of things because I'm an artist, and as an artist, I tend to be picky about design issues, looks, etc. I like the Zelda franchise. I don't care for all the games, but I like the franchise, and would like to see it take the HD road in the future, something for a 'mature' audience, if you get my drift.
Looks awesome. :D They should make a Legend of Zelda game where all the races and peoples don't trust each other (because of some war or something like that..ect), and Link has to make everyone peace, while trying to stop some kind of villian...
@dawnofhero U implying that an elf who lives in a fantasy world must look manly??do u have some kind of sexual issue?! if you weren't using the avatar of one of my favorite game this message would be a lot uglier...just show some respect man
This series is an icon, anyone who speak ill of this have absolutely no respect 4 the history of video games, lots of concepts and game mechanics used on modern games are based on this and others oldschool series...i'm speaking to those noobs who start playing video games on this generation and think they know a lot, there is a HUGE difference between design and polygom count, and good OR realistic graphics are not a sure formula for a game to be FUN!!! If u for whatever reason don't like Zelda just dont play it,dont point your finger, outspoken ignorance just bring shame on yourselves
Make Link manly-looking, Nintendo. He looks worse than he did in Twilight Princess...
@Zophar87 What is your problem? What has realism and good graphics in common? And what map pack? Stop your whining or I'm gonna start calling you names.
By the way, this Youtube video by SMBC asks some VERY important questions about Zelda games... http://youtu.be/lzBjnIjAPEQ
Enjoyed VERY much the darker tone on "Twilight Princess" this one seems a bit more on the "happy side" Can't wait for the new one to one sword control, wonder if we'll have to actually SPIN in front of the tv to do spin attack...
"People will buy it just 'cause it's zelda" no, people will buy it just because it's awesome. It'll tell us about the origins of everything we know about the franchise, how couldn't we be excited???
Looking forward to this so much! I don't mind the "throw-back" graphics one bit. Seems to me the gameplay will trump any weakness this game will have with regards to its "dated" graphics.
this. looks. SO GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!! and now we know why link goes down to Hyrule below...Zelda is kidnapped even before she's a princess! hahaha this looks great, reminds a lot of wind waker with the floating islands and art style but its clearly very different, this is shaping up to be just awesome, cant say it enough. wii going out with a bang? i'd say so.
@chrs_vedder How do they keep remaking Oot? i belive the only remake is the 3ds version, the other Zelda games are not the same what so ever, sure they follow the same formula. I and every true Zelda fan you speak to would gladly play every Zelda game that comes out...regardless, This games is going to be fantastic and our community cannot wait for it
Oh man I am so stoked for this. Especially since they changed up some things and tried new stuff this time around! :D
ok, im am no troll, i love nintendo, but im sorry, you cant keep remaking was what deemed a perfect game in 1998 and hope to get buy on that alone. in addition, this game looks great from an artistic standpoint, that can never be denied with most if not all nintendo games. but this game looks technically bad, im hoping the wii u can make up for the lackluster graphics of the wii. but by the time the wii u comes out, it will look outdated again in comparison to whatever microsoft and sony have cooking up for their next gen consoles.
@TrapMusik92 Will never happen. Nintendo owns the franchise and they are better off leaving gaming before making games for a Sony and/or Microsoft platform.
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! there are going to be GORONS(1:31)!!!!!!!! also the game looks amazing
@kaem79 I'm sorry that my classics don't look as good as your mediocre shooters, at least they'll stand the test of time, even after map pack number fifty.. Just because a game is not "realistic" doesn't mean it doesn't look good.
kaem@ You're just spewing junk that doesn't make sense.Who the heck carss about graphics unless you are a graphics whore.
@dawnofhero Haha! "Zelda: a garden of dreams". I bet they would buy it and praise it to the skies. That's just pathetic.
@parduebenjamin What am I trolling? That the graphics are dated, which they are and ugly and unrealistic which they also are. It's you who are lying around just to defend a diluted game serie, once epic now diluted with a green geek and his gadgets.
Coolyfett@ Can you give me at least 20 reasons to way this game is bad before you spout nonsense.
i personally like Cel Sshaded graphics better than a more realistic approach i mean i play games to escape reality i don't want to see a super HD realistic world all the time
@dawnofhero I'm a huge Zelda fan, but I wouldn't buy that. There's a great reason why Zelda fans keep coming back for Zelda: Nintendo makes each iteration in the series feel fresh. If Nintendo decided to go the Call of Duty route, I'm sure there would be a lot of pissed off Zelda fans, and there would be even more pissed of fans if they'd make a game like you described.
@Barnman2205 THANK YOU! Seriously if you don't own or don't play to Wii please go back to your shooters and HD graphics and leave the true Nintendo fans to be the judges.
@nerdofthering "I wonder if this trailer has a backwards hidden theme." Zelda SFX - Puzzle Solved / Secret Unveiled would be neat then *giggles*
