Check out the E3 trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Do you really hate colour that much? This game looks like it will have the most distinctive and beautiful environments in the series to date.
from a tech stand point the graphics are not as good as they should be. as far as i'm conserned i'm more worried about physical effects of using wiimote-nunchuck for hours on hours.
WHO GIVES A S***T about graphics this game looks so amazing all the haters who just hate it for its graphics could just go and play ps3 and pc games and just stop hating on the wii!
Wind waker was actually a pretty amazing game. More open to do whatever like Link to the past. It is funny how people bash a game and hate it just for the graphics. If it plays well so what, I mean we all own a Wii so we already know the graphics suck compared to anything else out there (PC ps3, 360). I bought my wii for the classics that I grew up with, Zelda, Mario, DK, Metroid. Need I say more?
Zelda has never let me down I'm sure what ever it looks like it will be awesome.
This is how it looks when "Twilight Princess" has a baby with "Wind Waker". I'm excited to play and I hope it does well.
I hope this isn't like a Super Zelda Galaxy or something. I feel like Nintendo takes a gimmick and uses it in its main games and then repeats with another new thing. (i.e. vaccuum, squirt gun, Midna: all sitting on your back) I'm not sure why it's so hard to top the first 3D entries in these series (Mario 64 and OoT), but I wish they could just make a solid game without the nonsense. Not that this game will necessarily be bad, I just want a game where everything is good and not in the service of a new idea. I want the new idea to serve the game, and more importantly, the legend. We shall see.
Twilight Princess graphics were not better... This looks alot smoother. What you liked about Twilight Princess better was the art style, not the graphics.
THT LINK LOOKSSSS SO GAYYYY IDK WAT THE CREATOR THINKING THE TWILIGHT GRAPIHCS ARE WAY BETTER,,,,
heh
looking better than i thought heh
Did anyone else think of Castle in the Sky when they saw this trailer?
I just wish that the reverse OOT music is not used as the main theme, it feels unfinished and very FF like.
@kid_kaotik "nothing about it is traditional" Well, perhaps Nintendo was simply trying to eschew tradition in favor of doing something different. Hell, they've shown their penchant for that with the Wii, DS, and now with the Wii U. Nothing about those systems are traditional. OT: I don't understand how people can hate on this game without even playing it simply because of the art style. Yes, it's not as gritty and realistic as Twilight Princess but there's a good reason for that. It's not Twilight Princess... The overall aesthetic used in Twilight Princess simply wouldn't work well within the story and universe of Skyward Sword from what I've seen so far. It would be somewhat akin to forcing the gritty realism of Battlefield 3 on a game like Viewtiful Joe. It just wouldn't feel right at all...
@LoveAlwaysErin I think it doesn't have so much to do with better or worse as it does with pursuing a particular art design. Twilight Princess was a much darker, grittier game than Skyward Sword seems to be shaping up to be and the visual aesthetic reflected that. Usually that requires a more realistic approach and if by "not as good" you meant not as realistic, then yes, you're right. However, it seems that this was a conscious design choice on the part of Nintendo. You wouldn't expect Windwaker to have the same dark, gritty aesthetic of Twilight Princess either; it simply does not work well with the tone of the story.
@BKJ4TWShadow Princess? Really?
Looks like Zelda returned to her blonde roots. I knew it was just a phase she was going through. And is it me or do the graphics look not as good as twilight princess?
@kid kaotick Zelda is trying to be different this time around. In fact, every game they try something different and new. The next thing I'll hear is why Hyrule was sunk under water and why are islands floating in the sky. Oh wait, I rest my case. As long as the combat is new when actually its been the same since OOT you can put me down for a pre-order! I just don't understand some of you.
i love legend of zelda, but this is just bad, how can they ditch epona for some random flying thing, and how can islands float in the sky, i dont even wanna see the tragedy that will be hyrule, they cant just mess with the game like that, nothing about it is traditional... but i do like the new combat.
Already can't get the theme music out of my head. I'm going to be hooked. Can't wait. So glad the game has some real color too unlike the usual grayish green that someone else mentioned of previous games.
I really don't enjoy the celshade... This game reminds me--graphically and gameplay wise--of Windwaker, a game I really don't enjoy. Twilight Princess reminded me of Ocarina.. I prefer that immensely.
Why can't I get excited for this game? The graphics just look horrible...despite being one of Nintendo's flagship franchises. Why is it that RE4 for the gamecube can outclass Zelda on the Wii in this regard? It is starting to look like a bastardized mix between Wind Waker and Shadow Princess.
I've watched this trailer at least 20 times now. It gets better every time :D
@ mikey1611 i agree with you
@J-man45 Amen!
Gamespot Videogame awards 2011. Best Graphics, Artistic: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
I love Zelda and have a wii so i will be gettin this game. But i must say its tough to watch Elder Scrolls Skyrim with it amazing graphics then be amazed by this. Doesnt mean gameplay wont be amazing i know this but common Nintendo time for to catch up graphically. Wii games look like games from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube Era...
@dxidaniel TP can't have a sequel becouse the hero's timeline finish there.. the next game of the timeline is Oracle of S/T, where it bound TP and Spirit Tracks (heroless timeline) together. LoZ have timelines, but its so confusing u start to wonder if it really have XD
I'm starting to come around with the new style. Glad their trying to do something a little different. Actually think it looks WAY better than TP. I like the darker tone but the environments of TP were really ugly. This at least has some diversity.
I want a darker Legend of Zelda, please. Like the tech demo on the Wii U, that looked impressive.
I was looking forward to a sequel to TP
I hope they put this on Wii U and convert it to 1080p. Just makes sense to me...
Huh!!! since when is Link Right-handed?
BAM! Terrible ...
i dont HATE the artstyle, but i like the TP artstyle better
YAY Zelda, BOO motion controls.
could still come to Wii U, that would be sick
Looks totally amazing :D
"The monster opens it mouth vertically!! Swing horizontally!!" i've got a feeling its gonna be a lot of this....
really loving the art style
THis is ZELDA,need to say more?
ooooooo can't wait!
Meh.
what an epic series, of all games this year this one has me pumped the most
Was that Rauru at 1:01? I know that this is a prequel to Oot, but still...
The first half of the trailer was kind of interesting... the dungeon footage was extremely "meh" Overall I still feel this is a Zelda title being "wasted" on the Wii with motion controls.
Wow that village all spread out among rising platforms looked so cool! Is that Zelda when she is young? :P
You mean the entire universe ISN'T washed over in a grey-green fuzz!? SCORE!!!
Wow ;).
Graphics look like Wind Waker`s...But I think the darker tone of Twilight Princess still outranks Skyward Sword`s lighter atmosphere.. LOL anyway, any Zelda is definitely a masterpiece! ^^
