So if you are a die hard Zelda fanboy might as well stop reading this. Skyward sword sucks. It is more disappointing than Duke Nukem forever. I have never really liked Nintendo or Zelda. (twilight princess is alright) I suppose Super Mario Bros is alright but I always see Nintendo as whores of their own product, manipulating young children into buying their half assed games and accessories. (I go into best buy one day and see a Nintendo D-S ad and they have Donkey Kong playing it on at least a dozen different Tv's). Anyway back to the matter. Skyward sword has gotten critical acclaim by a majority of critics. The lowest being our gamespots 7.5/10. Everything that Mcshae criticized is right. First of all the controls are flat out horrible. The already shallow combat system is finicky and unresponsive with the wii remote and when I played for about an hour my arms were swore of useless flapping about. Nintendo has never really made a GREAT looking game,besides twilight princess which was gorgeous for its time and still pretty today as it looks better than games like Saints row and darksouls. But clearly nintendo went back about a decade in the graphical department. The textures are dull and boring unlike twilight princess who had beautiful textures as were the creatures you fought on links adventure,now they are equally bland. I guess I should be fair and say somethings good about this game. Well the soundtrack is really nice and the sound in general is quite good besides the lack of voice acting. The story is quite good too as it is Skyward Sword is a prequel to Ocarina of Time, and elaborates on the origins of the Master Sword and Ganon. But as I have said before, Story cannot always make up for shallow gameplay and outdated graphics. I guess Zelda fans will enjoy this because well it is another Zelda game but other wii owners. A rent maybe but nothing more
