The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time coming soon in 3D!
strange. I feel like with the overhaul they did on the characters that they made the older Link look a lot younger than he did in the N64. He even looks shorter. That, or I'm older than I was than when I first played it...also possible.
Personally looking forward to the original games that will be coming to 3DS, this is a sure seller tho.Always prefered link to the past and the gameboy zeldas tho.
After replaying the entire thing on N64 yesterday and then looking at this, it doesn't seem like too much of an improvement.
I loved this game on 64, and I will be buying it for 3DS without a doubt. Just having the portability of taking this game anywhere is a surefire sale to me, personally.
@FrogDude14 I dont see why, its my main reason for it largely because my N64 is a bit knackered and I would also like to play the game in its updagted form
You'd have to be pretty insane to get a 3DS just for a port, Wolflink001. But Nintendo certainly made a good decision in doing this. Takes me back to the good old days :)
@Telekeneticjerk ...and go ahead and look at the Kinet and Move and tell me its not a fad...they have both pretty much stopped releasing games for them. They're lame tools at tapping into the "casual" market and they work because the tools themselves sell but after that nothing happens.
@Telekeneticjerk There is one major difference between Nintendo and (360/PS3) and that is limiting its development costs when it comes to consoles. Where PS3/360 probably suffer losses or a very low margin on console sales, Nintendo turns in a good profit. Doesn't matter anyway, that is for Nintendo to care about, but for me as a customer it seems everything has been lacking from Nintendo lately...ever since the Wii hit shelves and I doubt its future will be much better.
@mack10 Nintendo has had more business than their recorded history with what they've been doing. All they're stuff is family friendly making it easier to sell to a large population whereas Xbox and PS3 games don't really have a range of games that appeal to a lot of people. They're doing what every good business person does and they're listening to their customers. They're not re-releasing OoT again because they think it'd be a good idea. They're re-releasing it out of request from millions of people. Obviously you don't care for it, that's not the point. The point is, whatever they can do that will earn them money is what they will do. As for the wii and the 3ds as "just another fad" maybe they are just gimmicks, but people are interested and no one else is doing what they're doing. People at Microsoft and Sony didn't buy into the whole motion-sensor for video games but they finally gave in when they BOTH came out with Kinect and Move. So if you're going to sit here and lecture people about gimmicks and fads, know your facts. Otherwise take your trolling somewhere else.
@ Fayt1986 yea but nintendo keeps taking steps back and people keep buying into their gimmicks. The 3DS is just another fad, like the Wii and like every "casual" console out there...it'll come and go faster than you can blink, at the very least they can release something new...its not like this game is going to look good in 3D its just that it gets all of you guys worked up over nothing.
@mack10 theres a reason they release this game over and over again....... its just that good and still sells ^^ that and lots of people havent even played Oot.
My goodness, this looks so good. The graphics look so much better than the original 64. Animation looks very impressive
While it's definitely prettier, I kinda expected more of a graphical overhaul. I guess the 3D will make up for it.
can't believe they're getting anyone's attention with these gimmicks. I love OoT as much as anyone else but make something new already and quick rehashing old games.
I have beaten this on the 64 at least 30 times, on the cube around 5 plus master quest, and I cannot wait to beat it again in 3D. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Cant wait!!
looks great but to be honest, if they were going to try to improve the graphics they could've and should've done even more than they did. dont get me wrong of course it looks great and the content is in the game itself but if they were going to change the original graphics anyway, they should've pushed this game to the max that they could...with the 3DS being almost as powerful as the wii (i think? look at the Kid Icarus game coming out!!) then i know they could've done an even better job. Heck, the models used on Link/Young Link/Ganondorf/Zelda-Sheik in Super Smash bros melee were better than what we see here...this rendition of OoT has a more animated and cartoony look which i don't really think suits the tone of the game as much as a more realistic approach (i.e. the models in SSBM) oh well, if i ever pick up a 3ds i would def get this.
RRRRRG Before I comment,I'd like to state how much I hate the automatic playing of other videos at the end of these things.I try to read comments or make one myself, and if I forget to replay, then pause the video,I get jumped to something else.VERY annoying.Especially at 4 in the morning before work when i don't feel like using my reflexes for anything. Anywho. This game has been so greatly revered, and is a source of so much in the gaming world.I have it for the 64,and yet....Zelda fans brace yourselves....I've never beaten it! I always get somewhat far in it,decide to take a break, then forget to pick it up again!I may have to buy this so I get the improved graphics, the 3D,and more motivation to actually finish it.
@SlappyDog.. Well they would know the frustration, except i hear that Nintendo is softening it for the little pansies.. Real gamers braved that s*** back in 98' like champs. I can't wait for this game.. it's going to be awesome.
Yeah this looks good, but seriously?!?! ANOTHER Remake of this? I love this game but I would much rather have a NEW zelda experience. I've already played this game on three systems: N64, GameCube collector's edition disk, and the Wiiware download. Give me something new nintendo... justify my purchase with NEW SOFTWARE!! Just upset that the most exciting releases for my 3DS are two remakes... this and starfox64.
I never had a nintendo 64 so I'll finally be able to play it, actually one of the few reasons( games) yet why I will get a 3DS
@Link3301 you didn't read my comment properly, I said "as well as the graphics" Clearly they are updating the graphics, they look great, I just wish they upgraded the sound as well. Kirbyboy400 is right it is kinda half assing it. Oh well the game is still gonna rock anyway :D
@Yo-gan I agree 100%. I can't wait, looks awesome! But, would it have killed them to update the sound and music. I mean, they changed the graphics. Why half-ass it there? Even though it would pretty hard to enhance perfection.
