The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask is still a good game, but the lack of save points greatly hinder this title.

User Rating: 7.5 | Zelda no Densetsu: Majora no Kamen (w/Memory Pack) N64
Wow. GameSpot sure rates games high that I think aren't great. Why did they give Majora's Mask an 8.3? There's no way that Hey You Pikachu should receive and 8.3 because that game was unplayable. Why was Hey You Pikachu given the same exact rating as Majora's Mask? This is not a bad Zelda game, what kills this the most is not being able to save anywhere you travel. It's honestly one of the worst Zelda games I have ever played and shouldn't have gotten an 8.3 on GameSpot. They were just too generous back then.

First, The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was the very first Zelda game I had played on my Nintendo 64 (traded console in 2005) since I was 9 1/2 years old. In my opinion, Ocarina of Time was one of the best Zelda games I had ever played because I can actually save anywhere I go. The story line, length of the game, great soundtrack, beautifully rendered graphics, and responsive controls automatically make it a great Zelda game.

On the other hand, Majora's mask is basically a sequel to Ocarina of Time because the graphics are near identical, but for some strange reason, Nintendo made this game a lot more challenging because you can only save at certain locations.

Presentation - Link transforms into Deku Link at the beginning of the game and encounters the Masked Man (design based off of Shigeru Miyamoto) helps guide Link on his adventure. The main idea of the story is to travel around for three days before the moons go crazy. I honestly don't know about the story too well.

Graphics - They are basically the same as Ocarina of Time with different landscapes and themes. Visually, the graphics are still some of the best on the N64 because they aren't as blocky as most N64 games are.

Sound - The music is based off of Ocarina of Time with slightly different themes. They still sound decent. However, the music isn't as inspired and memorable as there was in the prequel.

Game play - Link travels around the city for a time limit of three days, but the objectives of the game can get confusing because there were times when I got stuck and didn't know where to go. There are occasional dungeons as well, but I found out that they are timed. Also, not being able to save anywhere I go can be frustrating because I would have to do the entire mission all over again.

Lasting appeal - If you can get past the flaw of not being able to save regularly, there's plenty of room for you to explore. Just remember that a lot of frustration will be headed your way.

The Good - the only direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, graphics are amazing, story is different and unique from other Zelda games

The Bad - not being able to save anywhere you go can be frustrating, sometimes confusing objectives
