The best game ever made and the foundation for all Zelda games to come.

It's hard not to be biased when writing this review as I personally am of the opinion that Link to the Past is the best game ever made. I remember as a kid waking up at 6 am just to get in a few extra hours of Zelda before school. It was addictive then and it's just as addictive now. Playing it wirelessly with a classic controller on the Wii makes it even better. The flawless gameplay and originiality is what sets it apart as the best Zelda of the series. It set the bar for all to come. Unlike later installments which are often criticised as being too easy this one has a difficulty level that is just right. You actually get to use those fairies and pieces of heart you'll collect. Link to the Past is full of all the great things a Zelda fan comes to expect - plenty of areas to explore, a wide inventory of creative items, mind boggling puzzles, an epic soundtrack , a large variety of monsters to battle and a higher number of dungeons than any Zelda to date. The game also introduces such staples of the series as Ganon and the Master Sword. Link to the Past boasts a fairly high replay value due to its depth and quality. Having played it through more times than I can count I now know the game by heart but I still find it highly entertaining to pick up and play again. For nostalgic gamers and newcomers alike, at a price of 800 points (8 USD) you can't go wrong. Link to the Past is a must have for every Wii owner.
