Is it possible to beat that "ball like" monster near the very south east part of the map in the light world?

The only efficient way I know how to do this is but hitting him once, with any weapon, then, precisely use the ether/bombos medalian to kill off the little bugers. I would like to know if there is another method to doing this.

Oh, and if it is a bit confusing, I mean for all of the little spurts of that one big monster, to be killed before the disapear.

The monster floats in the air, by the ground near the south eastern part of lake hylia. This monster is red on most of its body.

Or just avoid him, as you don't get anything from it really.
