Check out a cutscene from Naughty Dog's upcoming title, The Last of Us.
I think too many games are having way to much crap on the screen. I think it is ok as long as they give the player an option to turn it off. Just Cause 2 does give you the option to make everything transperent except the cross hair. BF3 has a very annoying HUD, sometimes it is too much for me to bare an I quit playing the game. I don't need to see everyones name an marker over their head or conquest points. I don't like it I am more viseral an like a clear screen, it hinders your vision an makes it harder to see things or confuses you because enemies are running by an you think you see a teammate name over their head (an the teammate is some far off place) an they end up shooting you because you can't accurately depict what is on the screen. Even hardcore has way to much crap. EA or whoever, please make your games to where you can turn off the HUD. Killzone is a great example, I played killzone2 online an the HUD was terribly jumbled, however, you can turn off the hud which I really appreciated. Plus I think taking off the HUD completes the game an allows you to enjoy the graphics an setting more. Thnk of a pretty painting an then take a crayon an lablel an circle stuff. It is offbeat from the painting an takes away from its appeal. Gamemakers please give options to take off everything on the HUD and I mean everything. Or get creative with where you put it like how Deadspace uses holograms. DeadSpace implented the HUD into the game vs adding offbeat stuff to the Screen. Samething with the mic, give an option to mute everyone in the game with a click of a button. Warhawk is the best example of having control over the mic an muting ppl.
Serious potential. So long as the controls and camera are smooth and intuitive, this could be awesome.
The game looks really good but personally I would like to see a gameplay where we have an encounter with those human monsters. To me the game looks more like 28 days later with people struggling to survive.
Looks really damn good, its to bad its a ps3 exclusive. Not sure there logic behind the console exclusives, does it really motivate someone to pay 100$ to 300$ for a console to just play a game or 2. Naughty Dog has expanded there company making 2 games at once but they should of also invested in making multi platform games so everyone can enjoy there games not just a few. Atleast thats my logic.
@made_u_look when i bought my ps3, i looked at exclusives and how many were on each console and what multi gAMES were better on which, its not just 1 or 2 games the exclusives really add up and do heavily effect which console people buy
@made_u_look If you look at it the best games are almost always console exclusives. Halo, MGS, etc.
Its much easier to program for 1 specific console and make the game fit that console than to do a general game that fits in all. Most multi platform games lack in quality. It isn't impossible but its very hard to have a multi platform game of very high quality.
@snakept69 Ya that's true to a extent but the hardware in consoles are pretty identical and comparable to a mid grade PC. So the difficulty comes in the programing of the consoles which could be standardized to make it easier for multi platforming and it would be easier for Indie game makers or any developer. Of course that's in a perfect world lol
just bought a ps3 for a 100 euros... i had a xbox but im sick of the fact that you have to pay for the network and that they destroy your console with a update if you have any downloaded games so i converted to a ps3 and the first thing im gonna do is buy uncharted series and buy the last of us:D
i feel like this girl needs to be voiced by ellen page. It looks just like her, the previous previews sounded just like her, and they even named her 'Elly'. What is up with that.
@Epicurus-Reborn That would be funny. Ellen Page is doing the main role in a similar game called "Beyond: Two Souls"
@Epicurus-Reborn i agree. when i first saw a teaser trailer i assumed ellen would play elly.
looks great ..but unfortunately thr are so many games tat look only good in trailers nd flop completely after their release..
@kirkkushhammett and when has that happened for naughty dog? this game is good as gold.
this is one of the next steps in bringing "movies" and "games" together, a couple years and they could be one in the same. O_o
@sid123456789 well I hope in a couple of years we could actually go inside a game that will be like wow
@rowanator i think she says "oh not good" i heard that they arent related i think
this game looks so good its almost unreal this game would make an excellent movie i am legend 2 is wat this game is lol it looks amazing
@leviathanwing Maybe because the original book was exceptional. Unfortunately, the 7 or so different movie adaptations are all pretty terrible. You are likely just referring to the most recent Will Smith version though, right?
@Sanity_Bleeds i think the Will Smith version would have been great, if the infected weren't computer graphics. that was completely unnecessary, and fake looking and ruined the immersion of the movie. It had such a good atmosphere. And over all really well made and acted. I mean the seen with his dog?? So heart breaking :*( (also i didnt know of the older adaptations either.)
@leviathanwing its kinda like watching a tv series all in one day haha. @DeViLzzz yes!!! 28 days later redefined zombie movies and surviving an outbreak apocalypse. So good.
naughty dog is best studio of game making in the world
i love naughty dog and i love josh scherr one day i coming to u for(game making).....one day....
but just ND
I hope that if they do a "climbing scene" in this game, they actually get it right this time.
Please just ask the people that go rock climbing everyday at the gym or weekends at the mountain, this it is just too much, Tomb Raider Underworld almost got it right, but with the sense of a character that has super human strenght/ nothing wrong with that.
But to see Nathan, climbing buildings and not even sweat at it... just add a stamina bar or something, to at least be afraid of falling.
@metzenlord oooh yeah, like in 'shadow of the colossus'. that would be a good mechanic, but it seems like 'climbing' wont be a key part of the design in this game : / I see it as a great idea, since it would add to the tension. but they probably dont want exploration to be hindered by anything.
