Is what we have seen of the gun play thus far. Seriously. It just looks so... heavy. Not overdone at all, but still, brutal. I HATE when games have really repetitive canned gun sounds, or when they sound tinny and weak. I have always wanted to play a game where the guns pack a punch that is faithful to real life. I may be an idiot but if I know one thing, it is that real guns are LOUD. Did you hear how loud and booming Joel's shooter was? Oh baby...

On top of that, the body damage and physics look beautiful. Blood spatters, sickening head shots. Remember how the molotov dude crumpled when Joel put a round in him? Ahh... that's the good stuff.

Does anyone else feel the same way about any of this?

It helps that this game seems perfect in basically every way I can think of.

I've been under fire before. Well ... I've been in a fire. Actually, I was fired. I can handle myself.

I'm not interested on how realistic the damage you did to the enemy is.
But what interests me about this game is the choice of actions.
The fact that I could spare someone instead of killing them.

I'm going to play this game without killing any humans. (I will still kill those infected people however.)

Yeah I agree, I hate weak guns, I almost wish they were even louder haha. All we've seen is the Revolver and the Shotgun, but if they're anything to go by, the rest of the guns in the game should be great.

As a United States Marine...Yes, I feel exactly the same way! ;D

I'm much more interested in the enemy AI. Seems like each playthrough will be totally different.

I don't think that would be possible, at all. Even if they actually make it possible to go through some areas without killing everyone, most scenarios will probably be "kill or be killed", that's the whole point of the game pretty much, survival at any cost.

    I know.
But whenever possible, I'll do it.

^ Nothing wrong with pacifist playthroughs.
You probably love MGS & Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
But I wouldn't mind if the Last Of Us gave you that option of choosing to neutralize people without murder.

I know exactly what you mean. In most games I play with guns I dont feel like i am "powerful" just a guy with 30 guns. I always enjoy games that dont take advantage of them and make them scarce.

kind of hard to put what i am thinking on paper.

i seriously hope it's not like DXHR, it was a complete chore sneaking around, not to mention stunning someone took away from a special meter, and going invisible took away from a meter that required rare supplies to restock.
