solid port of an even more great game

User Rating: 9 | The King of Fighters '97 (PSOne Books) PS
KOF 97 stands as a solid 2-D fighting while keeping the fighting style created for the 96 version kept making significant improvements .

This is a PS1 KOF version so you better be ready for a lot of loading time periods beetwen rounds - not if you are playing one on one fights but this is King of Fighters and no one want to do that - but the soundtrack won't be cutt off since there is no soundtrack for most of the game ............ intead it can be heard some noises from afar like a crowd shering or a band playing .

Like every KOF game you have a lot of pretty balanced charactes - almost everyone - like Kyo, Iori. Terry, Ryo, Robert, Mai, Athena, Ralph, Shingo and Blue Mary in what it could be call his classics and maybe their best versions along the series .

The graphics and the frame rate were clearly improved and the game presents two types of playing Advance and Extra so you can chosse them depending on wich KOF prequel style did you like the most - 96 and 95 respectively - the game also includes a Kyo '94 version if you don't like the new Kyo fighting style .

I'ts worth mentioning that every character has at least two Super Special Moves and with the different styles it adds a lot of deep in battles . Also to notice that that endings in this game are ones of the
most imporatnt in the series since they are conclusive to the Orochi's Saga and Kyo's and Iori's rivalry .

In the end is a good port of an even more great game .
