The Island: Castaway is a small and good looking game with fetch quests and exploration element.

The Island: Castaway is a nice looking short game from "Awem Studio".

The Story: It's the same old, but always liked tale of a few shipwreck survivors washed ashore on a vivid tropical island. Their first priority is to survive, their second - to build a boat and sail back to civilization. But the island they are on holds more mysteries to be revealed...

The Graphics: The art is pretty, colourful and clean. Movements are nicely animated. There are no spectacular effects and filters, but they are not needed at all. The game is pleasing to the eye. The chapter transition art could be better though.

The Sound: Background music is also good. The transitions from one theme to another are smooth. The characters have voice-overs. Nothing special.

The Gameplay: This is the great part. You can pick up fruits and other stuff. You can cook, fish, hunt, farm and cut dry trees, explore and collect statues. There are several achievements you'll want to accomplish. It's easy and entertaining. The quests that progress the story are the simple fetch or talk type and you can do them anytime you feel like it. The minor drawback is that you'll have to run around a lot, but you can click on an active person on the map and the game automatically will navigate you there, just watch out for those snakes. And before you get tired of the game it will be over and you'll want a little more.

As a conclusion, The Island: Castaway is a fine game of exploration with collect-them-all element, cooking, farming, fetch-questing and general fun.
