House of the Dead: Overkill was a great game!

User Rating: 8 | The House of the Dead: Overkill WII
With so much doubt being put upon the wii these days it is hard for me to come back with a great game to show PS3 and 360 that the wii is a good system. House of the Dead: Overkill is a game where I can do that. Let us start the review.

Gameplay: I didn't know what to expect from this gameplay. I mean mutant game where the main character moves for you? I thought that it might be better off on an arcade instead of the Wii. However Sega and Nintendo pulled it off nicely. You start the game out with a handgun. It is very hard when you only have a handgun. I was dying quite a bit. But after gaining enough money I could buy weapons such as the Shotgun, Assault Rifle, SMG, Hand Canon, and Automatic Shotgun. This did make the game easier, but unless you upgrade your gun it is still going to remain a challenge. The main character does move for you but he does not move too much. If you run into a group of mutants he will stop and you can shoot and move on. The boss battles were amazing! They could be a little harder but besides that they were great. They had unique designs and attacks. I do not wish to spoil the game so I will not go into more details about the bosses. Gameplay was all in all really good..... 8.5/10

Graphics: This is where I get a little irritated. I guess this game is supposed to in the style of a 1970s movie. However the lips not matching the words was going a little too far. There would sometimes be a time when a character is finished with a sentence, yet he will keep on moving his lips. As for the look the graphics were alright for the wii, but they could of been way better. Another thing was a lot of the Mutants looked the same which irritated a lot of people but I didn't mind it.Graphics were alright....7.0/10

Sound: Oh man! I loved the soundtrack! It had a nice rock n roll sound and it made ya laugh while listening. Usually a song will start out with a serious or funny quote from the game then it will go to a rock n roll song. Many of the sound effects and mutant screams sounded realistic. Sound was great.... 8.5/10

Stroy: The story was pretty good! I promise you that sometime in this game you will laugh uncontrollably. This game has Detective Issac Washington, one of the funniest detectives ever. The story itself was not that bad. It could have been longer and a little more detailed but all in all it was just right. Lots of twists and turns throughout the game. Great story....8.0/10

Overall: This is a great game! I do not recommend it for small ones. There is quite a bit of blood, language, and gross humor. If you want a great rail shooter for the wii, get this game first. It is truly one of my favorite games for the wii. Overall this game gets a 8.0/10

Thanks for reading my review! Hope it helped :)
