This game was a lot of fun to play through, although it did get quite repetitive especially once you were done playing through the missions. First of all: this game looks really, really good. The huge wide open 1940's New York is something to behold. When I was driving over the Manhattan bridge or the Brooklyn bridge I was blown away. The textures and tweeds in the different suites you can buy, the horned rimmed glasses, the big Fedora Hat (Snakes, why does it always have to be snakes).

This game basically consists of taking over as many businesses, rackets, hubs, warehouses, ship yards and the five famalies mansions by smacking some people around or extortion. Now as fun as smacking all these people around it does get very monotonous after a while. While I played it I ran through the story line and took over some businesses but there were still a whole lot left once I had advanced as far as I could and the story line was basically over; so going around to all these businesses again and again and again got quite boring.

Playing through the story was a lot of fun: advancing through the ranks and making your character faster, shoot faster, reload faster was very enjoyable. The controls were fantastic, especially choking someone to death by pressing the the two analog stick buttons down really made you feel like you were part of the action, as sick as that sounds, but it was pretty cool. It was also really cool to see your role in the Godfather. You get to see yourself as kind of a behind the scenes character from the movie.

With all that being said i guess I must have liked it because I played through it several times. So if you like the GTA games you will most certainly like this one. One Thumb way up and one thumb kind of sideways with a little tilt upwards.
