Children of Mana is a pretty good role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. The graphics are not bad at all. The storyline is pretty good but gets more interesting the more you play. I felt that the battle system wasn't that bad at all. It uses a mix of the game pad and the stylus so that you can choose what you want to use. I personally found it easier to use the game pad during game play and the stylus when I was in the menu. I found a few things I didn't like about this game. I found it very annoying that you could only save or enter the menu every couple of levels when in a "dungeon". This can be very frustrating when you get to harder or longer dungeons. I found that a lot of the game play was very repeatitive, especially since you may need to level up by doing side quests. Although the game makers tried to combat this repeatitiveness by making the dungeons different and by adding in new monsters the further into the game you get. I also found the lack of talking or real "cut scenes" was a bit annoying. But all in all it is an okay game and I would recommend it as long as your spending $15 or less on it.
