Reasonably good for a while but soon gets repetitive and there is no replay value.

Its not as much like GTA as you may think. Some of that is good and some is bad. The cars take a while to get into a good speed. In GTA you can get into a car and just take off at full speed. In this game you have to use the indicators to find out which direction you have to go when on a mission. This can often be annoying because you cant see what roads you have to take. There is no ingame map or radar which can be very annoying at times. In your first playthrough you have to do the missions. You cannot go off doing whatever you want like you can in GTA. The storyline is absolutely amazing and will keep you gripped from start to finish. You play as two characters with 12 missions with each character. You play as the fugitive trying to get his kid back, mark hammond, and you play as the cop frank carter. The missions can be very fun at times. The gunplay is ok but does get quite repetitive. You heal yourself simply by resting which I think is pretty cool. The ability to take hostages is one of the best if not the best feature of the game. Once you complete the game you unlock free roam. Its not what you would expect. Its not like GTA where there is no limits of what you can do. In the getaway there is nothing to do in free roam. You can shoot a few ppl and ride a car for a bit but you'll be bored with it after 5 minutes. In conclusion its a fun game for a while but soon gets repetitive and there is no replay value. I certainly dont regret buying it. I had fun with it for a couple of weeks. The problem is it has no lasting effect on you and you'll have no desire to come back to the game.
