GameSpot's Shaun McInnis talks with Pete Hines about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at Gamescom 2011.
" "I don't think i'm alone in thinking that anyone who doesn't AT LEAST enjoy a Bethesda game, probably has mild brain damage...." Funny, I was thinking vice-versa... seriously though, this game looks like more of the same mindless wandering and killing. If they include gamepad support (because the interface looks just as bad if not worse this time around) then I might put up with it if I can kick back on the couch with my XB gamepad. Bethesda may be the most overrated developer of the past century." There's your mild brain damage.

Finally! We can take the cool enchantments out of those crappy items and place it inside whatever we want. Thank you Bethesda!

Thing i will hope to see is islands in skyrim. In oblivion i was kinda disappointed that the only island was the shivering isle gate. I hope in skyrim that one of the big cities is on a island and it is surrounded by other big unexplored islands harboring unknown creatures that would be sick. But so far they have fixed most of the problems i had with oblivion and added crafting, and this game is going to be amazing. Thank god i just made a beast computer =D
If Skyrim is as good as or better than Oblivion, which I'm sure it will be, then Gamespot BETTER give this game a 10!!!!
I can't wait for this! I love the amount of detail in this game an how big it sounds, your probably never going to get everything you can do in this game done with every character. But I'm going to have a bloody good go at it!
This game looks amazing. There are way more great games coming out than I can buy. Then there are going to be more add-on's for me to buy.
One of the best games for this year, beside STOR. As for 2012 ME 3 , Diablo 3 and Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, I pre-ordered all !!
Cant wait ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!,,if i could steal a time machine from Area 51...,,,,go to the future,,nov 11,,,,,the realese date and buy the game,,,,,,,,ha ha ha.....:-):-),,,dragons,,,,i am loving it,,,,,,great job,,,,my admiration to all Skyrim team,,,:-):-)
Props to Skyrim for not backing down from MW3. It comes out just 3 days afterwards... My top 2011 games coming out soon: 1.Skyrim 2.Dead Island 3.MW3 4.Serious Sam 3:BFE 5.Dead Rising 2:Off the Record If they dare give MW3 or BF3 the game of the year award over this, I'm switching to IGN ;)
It's a stupid little thing, but what I'd love to see just for the greed and avarice fun are little coins or metal ingots to represent your cash wealth. I doubt I'm the only one that wants to have a room in a house somewhere that can be heaped up with gold and gems picked up along the way. Granted it might get taxing on the renderer if you had 100,000 coins or bars in a single location, but I'd take a FPS loss to ogle it.
Spent far to much time for a family man with Oblivion! Have a lot of internal creditpoints to build prior to 11.11.11! :-) It will cost me - but it will be worth the hours i am going to emerse my self in Skyrim! :-)
I wonder if you could design your own swords, like you draw out an outline based on how much metal you've collected, the game turns that outline into a sword, and then you add as much detail as you wish. If you make a very thin or small sword it is lightweight and you are more agile with it, if you make a colossal one (like a two handed sword or a giant circle) it is very heavy and harder to wield and maneuver. That would be really cool.
Hi! About crafting... would it not be fine to add some dye to your stuff, get some color on your leather armor instead of the different brownish hues. Just a thought if they have time to implement it... they=the gamedesigners/programmers.
i havent been this excited about a game in a long long time. all the good games coming out and i wouldnt hesitate for a second to get this game if i could only pick one
This is the most anticipated game of my life. I can't wait for this game to drop, and I'm looking forward to wasting countless hours playing it. Keep up the great work Bethesda, you guys continue to set the standard for what a modern rpg should be.
Well the Bethesda guys are keeping everything quiet. i mean have any of you found an interview where they DIDNT mention cooking, and put extreme emphasis on.
Looking pretty amazing but there's so many good games coming out that I'll probably only be able to play it when it drops down in price. Definitely picking this one up though.
@Dominicobaggio there are 150+ confirmed dungeons for Skyrim, while Oblivion had 250+, it will be less dungeon crowed. The stuff they talk about is smaller things, more realistic and full environment , like little and beautifully distractive details, like a wolf hunting a rabbit seen on E3, salmons jumping over a small waterfall, more and more detailed grass, flowers, trees and so, and really a lot more quests better pointed to your type of gameplay
crafting sounds good, I feel the Fallout 3 and New Vegas crafting system did not produce useful enough items to justify the component collection.
@Ridgeblader Yeah! This is the most anticipated event of the year! Even so, you were very funny there!
Thank you for announcing this game some time ago with a release date. Blizzard should learn from your company.
Yeah bring it on! Armor crafting! Weapons crafting!! oooooooh! stealth kills FINALLY. Yep can't wait. Getting married later on this year and yet this is easily the most anticipated event on my calendar!
Really looking forward to this but im a bit worried about the fact the map is the same size as oblivion and it has 2wice as much in it. I always thought the oblivion map was too crowded. I like to be wandering around some areas where there is little stuff just dangerous animals, I dont want there to be a dungeon every 40 metres. Well i hope its not like im imagining. Love the fact they have learnt from Fallout though, sounds like its going to be fallout new vegas with swords with the crafting and upgrades and cooking etc.
@Hakkology you know what, either way look into the Asus website in the gaming laptops, they always have amazing things, and amazing prices for what you get, i bought a G51J-3D when it came out, still runs amazingly and plays all the latest games at highest settings no problem, the ONLY thing that i wish they had fixed in this model, is where the heating fan is placed, and all the new models fixed that so u dont have to worry about anything! ^___^
