I'm going to be a huge party pooper here by going against the masses and a have a bit of rant about why I really don't like this game. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion and shouldn't influence whether you should buy this game or not.

Story
Normally I like to finish the main story in these type of games and decide after whether I want to keep going with side missions and what not. In this game the story is really, really weak but I stuck with it just to see the ending and to say that I gave it a chance to grow on me. Then I finished it.... I'm not going to give anything away here but this is the worst ending I have ever experienced, I was so disappointed and angry that I stopped playing immediately and will definitely think twice about buying another elder scrolls game.

Gameplay
Battles are very basic consisting mostly of swinging a sword or zapping opponents with magic, what ever your preference is, but there is no real strategy to it. Your either stronger than the opponent or your not its real 90's kind of stuff I really don't understand the appeal to it all.
There are a couple elements however that are fantastic in the game and probably the reason why people love it so much. They are the leveling system and the loot. Admittedly the leveling system is very addictive and well done, there is a lot of fun in crafting weapons and leveling up your character.

Graphics + Sounds
The graphics on this game aren't bad but if you look closely you can see that they are pretty cheap, which is understandable considering how big the game is. One thing though, people rave about the huge world and how you can go out and do what you want, but I thought that was a really boring part of the game. The main world is so vastly empty it can take up to fifteen minutes of walking to get to a place without anything happening. But don't forget to save regularly on big trips just in case something does happen or you encounter regular glitches and have to do it all over again.
Its easy to tell that the creators have only hired maybe 3 people to do all the voice acting. Most of the characters sound the same and will just stand there and talk with no emotion. I think the game could of really benefited from some good cut scenes. The music though is really good and well suited to each situation.

Conclusion
This is one of those games I think I might of really enjoyed when I was back in school and could only afford 2 or 3 games a year and needed something really long just to keep me occupied.
I really think that the makers of this game have terribly confused quantity with quality. I would much rather play a game with substance that can be completed in a day than waste time playing a very repetitive shallow game such as Skyrim. Buy it cheap: 5.5/10
