The Good
Skyrim is definitely the best of the series so far. 9 major holds and 5 houses for you to own means tons of places to dump your loot and acquire quests, along with many a quest hidden in the wilderness of Skyrim that after over 122h of game play recorded I'm still not done with the side quests let alone getting down to the main quest. Lots of varied enemies and wildlife means there's always plenty of loot to be found in the beautiful landscape. The graphics are outstanding and allows you to really immerse yourself into the game. The new perk system allows much better character customization, not limiting you to developing yourself in set classes. This allows you to take on the large cast of opponents in any way you please, including the newest addition to the Elder Scroll cast of characters: Dragons. Free flying dragons are the bane of the early adventurer and loads of fun to kill, though late game they do become a bit repetitive downloading some mods quickly fixes the issue.
Mods
Mods are available for the PC version by the busload. Whether you want to simply add to the already massive universe, or you want some items to break the universe, it's all available to you for downloading or making for yourself with the provided creation tools.
Bad
Though it is definitely the best in the series, it is not without its faults. Some of the content gets a little repetitive such as the dragon attacks. Like the rest of the Elder Scroll games, be sure to save constantly and have backup saves at strategic points in the game as it is not without its game-killing glitches, but for fans of the series it's all part of the deal for such an expansive world to explore that no game comes close to matching.
Bottom line
This is definitely the best open world game on any system anywhere. Tons to do and see in the beautiful world of Skyrim. If you can stand the few minor issues with the game, this game will offer you an expansive universe to explore and interact with. Mods continue to add more to the world and if the other games of the series are anything to go by, expect two great expansions to come along soon.

Skyrim is more than a year old, but I never found a review that covered the game on all systems. This is it.
