One of the most overrated games I have played to date.

I'm not saying Skyrim is a bad game. I enjoyed it, I was drawn in by the world it is set in...BUT...it is by no means worthy of the amount of hype surrounding it. Firstly I'll mention the graphics, as for me this is the least important aspect, particularly with this genre of game. This game has moments of beauty, and moments of ugly, glitchy visuals. The moment I emerged from the caves at the beginning (which are really quite ugly) I was taken by the stunning world around me, the snow-capped hills and frosth trees, just beautiful. But still, in front of me, was a jittery, emotionless human AI, that killed the realism instantly. This continues throughout, some stunning scenery filled with ugly lifeless inhabitants.

Which brings me to the voice acting. Oh dear...I'm not sure what is worse, the terrible "Nordic" accents, or the lack of any kind of soul. It,s just horrible, and I found myself switching off from every conversation, which hinders any progress in this game, as conversation is the main way to get missions.

I keep being told this game will consume my time and life, but I really fail to see how. I love rpgs, I really do, but this has not gripped me at all. As stated above, the world draws me in, but the characters soon snap me out of it. IMO, there are loads of better games out there, with better visuals, story and acting that will keep you gripped.

I'm sure fans will hate this review, but it is honest. Seems to me some folk are too afraid to admit they find it dull...
