Game of the year

User Rating: 10 | The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim X360
Having tried Fall Out 3 and hating it I was concerned as to how this game was going to be. After doing a ton of research on it my wife and I pre-ordered it Wednesday. We both had the assumption that we would pick it up the following wednesday when we got paid but after watching the full 12 hour marathon here on gamespot, we went up to Eb games and traded in a bunch of games just to get it on release.

This game is just amazing, from the immersive character creator to the gameplay to the environment itself. While i'm typing this my wife is beside me stating everything she is seeing. There is nothing they have forgotten to put in this game from the shooting stars to the butterflies in the fields. Only thing that dissapoints me a bit is the fact your hero never talks so the conversations feel like dragon age origins.

Everything can be interacted with and it truely gives you the feel of being able to do what ever you want. There are doors that are locked that you can lock pick but doing so is breaking into a house with negative interactions. There is food and plates on the table of someone who is helping you and if you take them you are stealing. These are neat interactions saying ...you could take that but...

In short of my awe and amazement just think of this how many games are out there for the expensive $60 price tag that gives you 300-500 hours of game play? Not too many in my opinion and it almost is a game that needs to be in your collection.
