The first Elder Scrolls that ate my soul

From the moment I started playing I was just sucked into Skyrim's beauty. The music and atmosphere is so captivating and engaging, it really sucks you into the game. The leveling system gives you so much freedom to build your character however you please. I lol'd at a reviewer who gave the game a 4.0 and said it had dumbed down combat hahah! If you've played ANY rpg you will know that combat always starts out simple at the beginning and gets deeper and deeper the more you level and gain new abilities. The combat system is anything but dumbed down. You have tons of spells to chose from, shouts, special abilities, ranged or mele combat. And you can chose which one of these forms of combat you like best and put skill points into that to make it stronger. And not just in damage numbers. For example I've built my character to be strong in mele and magic. I use a one handed weapon in my right hand and spells in my left. I mostly use destruction magic so i put skill points into that and some of the benefits it gives me is fire magic does more dmg and also causes the enemy to flee when low on health. I've also put skill points into one hand weapons, and my maces now ignore a percentage of the enemies armor, my swords have a higher chance to critically strike, and when i sprint and attack at the same time it's an automatic critical strike. Shouts are one of my favorite aspects of combat. They're powerful abilities that have longer cooldowns. Generally the more powerful the shout the longer the cooldown. Some of the less powerful ones are stuff like throwing the enemy across the room, or freezing or disarming the enemy. Some of the recent more powerful and EPIC shouts I've gotten are calling down a dragon to assist you in combat and calling a violent storm and lightning will strike your enemies for about a minute or so. So this game has a great combat system with lots of variety and can be really epic at times.

The whole world is beautifully designed and you can enjoy yourself just looking at the environments sometimes. The game has a different sort of engine. When you first pop in the game you will think the graphics aren't the best but there are times in this game where the graphics are absolutely breathtaking.

Overall an outstanding rpg. My biggest complaint would be that to feel any sort of satisfaction from playing Skyrim you have to sit down and play for AT LEAST 3 hours. So if you have a full time job it can be hard to find time for Skyrim. And then when you do find time for it you're not answering any of your friends phone calls and can easily spend a whole day playing Skyrim lol.
