I'm thinking they'll still have vampires and now confirming werewolves as enemies obviously you'll be able to become a werewolf. I so missed that in Oblivion even though I never played Morrowind.

The main point I'm getting at is that I hope they have clans that you can do quests for. Being a vampire was cool and all but it would've been much better had there have been some kind of underground organization or clan that you could mingle with and do quests together to make you feel part of a different community. I'm really hoping they think of this and implement some sort of clan to do quests for and give insight as far as being able to thrive as a cursed/gifted being. Maybe even be able to get some kind of reward or perks in doing quests/honing your skills with your fellow brothers.

Anyone else have this thought or care to expand upon this?

Anything like that would be awesome. Have your group all transform at once then go out and hunt

They've been mentioned as creatures in the game. I'm pretty sure they'd be hostile but that's just a guess.

Well id say thats a good confirmation that we can be werewolves. If we fight them and can't get the diesease id be upset. It wouldnt make much sense.

My thoughts exactly. That would be a pretty big slap in the face if they took out the disease but still made them as enemies.

lets hope they expand upon both. i hope you can turn a npc into a vampire then you can use them as a team member this would only work on certain character of course

Wasn't mentioned in the gameinformer. Only thing I see mentioned are ice wraiths, dragons, giant spiders, giants, frost trolls, elk, saber toothed cats, wooly mammoths, and undead looking things.

They never did mention werewolves, somebody is either trolling or misinformed.

And why should it only work on certain characters?

In morrowind you did have "guilds" for both vamps and werwolves. In one you joined a vampire "house" determined by which bit you. In the other you were given quests by the guy who ruled the wolves hircine.

vampires were in most elder scrolls games that i can remember, even way back in daggerfall so they're obviously in the game.
werewolves would be cool since vampires are fairly lame, though killing them is always fun

I don't remember the lore but wouldn't it be pretty likely to see Werewolves? Wasn't the Island in Bloodmoon full of Nords? Don't they have some special relation to Werewolves?

I hope all the Vampires and Werewolves arnt just mindless beasts wanting to feast upon my soul.

I searched the Vampire caves in Oblivion hoping to find a clan that wasn't out to maim me, but sadly no such luck.

Someone else already pointed it out but you basically just described the vampires in Morrowind, like, every detail. Frankly it's a little creepy that you perfectly described the vampire system from a game you haven't played.

As for the topic I hope they bring back vampires and werewolves and have actual questlines related to them, not Oblivion's one annoying quest to find a cure.

I am just curious as to how these Vampires will be. I remember finding a book that gave me a +1 to Hand to Hand that was about vampires (can't remember the name off hand). In it they described briefly the vampires of the different regions and the ones from Skyrim sounded pretty crazy. Something about them living in the bottom of frozen lakes and reaching up through the ice to grab their victims. They also mentioned an ice breath attack that could freeze their enemies. I wonder if that was a bit of foreshadowing as to the type of powers Skyrim Vampires have.

In that Behind the Scenes video at Bethesda Studios, one of the concept art showed what appeared to be a Werewolf, only it had 3 eyes.
