I reckon Banish and Muffle are up there but I have neither learned. A weapon enchantment would be nice, planning on enchanting some iron daggers I made.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what your question here is, but if you're asking what enchantments level up your enchanting the fastest the answer would be that it doesn't matter. Any enchantment will boost enchanting the same amount. Same goes for soul gems used in enchanting, any size boosts the same amount.

Oh so there isn't any specific enchantment I should use to get higher boosts to the skill? Like with Alchemy, using certain ingredients to create certain potions will give an added boost to the skill gains compared to others (Giant's toe, wheat, red mountain flower etc).

So just using any enchantment via any soul gem on any weapon will result in the same amount of skill increase?

I've leveled multiple characters enchanting to 100 and I'm telling you, the enchantment used doesn't matter. It doesn't level the same way Alchemy and Smithing level. Just take any enchantment and any soul gem and enchant an item. Also, destroying enchanted equipment with enchants you don't know will boost your enchanting level. You can also recharge enchanted weapons for a small enchanting boost. If you really want to power level enchanting, make sure you have the mage stone activated and sleep in a bed you own to get the Well Rested perk.

Other then Banish Turn undead and Damage Stamina seem to be the best choices when using low value soul gems, both are easy to get from Blacksmiths etc right from the start of the game.

If you want to buy soul gems the Mages College is the best place for them.

jesus, none of you people are listening. It DOESN'T MATTER what enchant you use or what soul gem you use, they will ALL level your enchanting the same amount. You need to stop thinking that it levels the same as alchemy and smithing. Quality and power are NOT factors when leveling enchanting.

That's what makes power leveling enchanting so easy. Traverse a couple of Dwemmer ruins to collect a decent amount of soul gems. Go hunting for a bit to fill any empty gems. Hit up a few mines for ore to create a s***load of rings (also helps with smithing). Then spend some time enchanting your ass off (using ANY enchant you want) and you'll hit 100 in no time.

Seriously, take some time to actually look at how your enchanting is progressing. Anything you enchant below level 50 will seem like it's boosting your enchanting quite a bit. After that it gets a bit slower. By the time you're in the 90s, it should take about 6 enchants to level up 1 level... no matter what enchant or soul gem you're using (granted, that also includes activating the mage stone and getting the Well Rested bonus).

If you still don't believe me, then fine, spend dozens of hours making sure you use nothing but grand soul gems (or black) filled with grand souls and hunting down equipment enchanted with Waterbreathing or Muffle or whatever massively rare enchant you want. You're wasting your time, but go ahead. If you take my advice it will still take some time, but you'll level your enchanting to 100 in a matter of hours, not days or weeks.

Also, don't forget to always disenchant any new equipment you loot. At lower levels (of enchanting) that will boost it quite a bit.

XP gain is the same regardless the enchantment used, just some are more profitable.

    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Enchanting_Effects

Base Costs provide information on which enchantments are the most profitable to create.

The best way is find Absorb Health, Paralyze, or Banish. Purchase items from the 4 weapon sellers in Whiterun and craft iron daggers. Travel to the College at night and purchase all of the filled Petty and Lesser soul gems. Enchant your daggers and return to Whiterun to sell them all. The named enchantments usually provide enough return to continue the loop.

Fortify Barter can help you in buying/selling.

You can also use Fortify Persuasion but it is point-for-point worse than Barter

Don't forget to use the Mage Stone and be well rested when crafting to increase XP.

Where did this misconception about value determining XP gain come from? I thought the same thing... and I don't really know why.

For leveling up Alchemy, potions with higher value give a greater xp boost.

Cheers demonwyrn and theonyxphoenix, imma get to collecting petty gems then!

Assuming the Wiki is reliable, value affects the experience gained for items DISenchanted, but not for items enchanted. Perhaps this is where the confusion comes from?
