- Mar 2, 2013 9:12 pm GMTI had to put it on highest difficulty once I realised that I had actually broken the game as is, by creating incredibly overpowered armour & weaponry. Works pretty well until you encounter anyone that uses fire, in which case you have to save quickly...

"I'm sorry...but I must say one thing. Your not getting what you paid for, or the full experience out of tho game by riding through all of it on easy. Especially when fighting enemies like Lord Harkon, Mirrak, The Ebony Warrior, Kaarstag, etc. . ."
I didn't pay for the game. Also, I see that you are already beginning this by claiming your opinion to be fact. -_- Before people assume that I pirated it somehow I borrowed it from a friend. I have a job but I am not going to pay $40 or $50 for Skyrim when it came out late 2011. I understand that it is still popular and still making money, and I am not saying it is not worth the money, but I have no incentive to buy it when I can already play it for free. I buy many other games already and have been trying to spend less on them lately. <_<; I can always wait.
"Those are the type of battles you encounter that remind you of the movies, they force you out of comfort, make you think quick on your feet in diar situations, and basically are a big confidence boost when you're done."
Correction: Those are the type of battles 'I' encounter that remind 'me' of the movies, they force 'me' out of comfort, make 'me' think quick on 'me' feet in diar situations, and basically are a big confidence boost when 'I'm' done.
I see that you feel that way and thats great but don't just assume I will feel the same way.
"If you're doing it on easy all the time your bound to get bored of it. "
I've done almost every quest there is and I guarantee I have had a crapload of fun. You are simply wrong about me getting bored. I am not.
"And by the time you try it on master you'll have to learn all this later."
You mean learn to enchant my armor and become just as OP as I was on Novice? Yeah not quite as OP but it will still be easy. Enchant my armor, slash people just like I did before, press O and drink potions to regain health and drink other crap to enhance me or whatever. It's not going to make much of a difference in gameplay. It's not like this game is an action game or an FPS where you have to roll out of the way or take cover and use skill to get better. Whereas in an action game you can be punished for not dodging correctly or not attacking efficiently, in Skyrim, if I amp the difficulty, I can remedy any problem with just drinking more potions and getting better equipment. Its an RPG where you simply attack with the best crap you have and dominate.

Creator of the popular Ameno Sagiri and Friends - Mar 2, 2013 11:14 pm GMT" And those big boss battles just won't feel the same. If you're having fun on easy do you man. But I'm telling you this is THE game to play on the hardest difficulty. You may have like a thousand rage quits..but that's the beauty of the challenge"
I appreciate that you are trying to fill me in on what you think im missing out on but with as much fun as I am already having, and with the personal way that I view the game, not much can be done by amping up its difficulty other than to add more annoyance.
I know how to play hard games. I love challenges. But for some reason this game I just don't want any of that in. And some people will be elitists (not saying its you) and be all "LOL IF YOU LOVED CHALLENGE U WOULD PLAY THIS ON MASTAR"
I see where they are coming from but at the same time they will not understand, nor will they take the time to do so.
I made this topic to see different points of view. That's a discussion in my eyes. I couldn't figure it out on my own so I wanted to see what other people though. Apparently I should mention this in the original post or people will say crap that will waste my time like "cool story bro."
Also, lmfao at those people who are all "WOW WHAT A BUTTHURT." Right, like you people are so tough. It is so easy to observe and give a piece of crap opinion. It is also easy to join in and share that same opinion. You people can talk all the crap you want about me being sensitive or whatever. Maybe I am. It is none of your business. You can continue to say that I am very sensitive in whatever stupid BS way you can come up with but in the end, I will continue to add people to my ignore list if they annoy me. I'm not going to change that just because people are trying to make me look like I am a fool.
If you disagree then disagree. You might annoy me yeah but I'm not going to change any of this just because GFAQSUser1234 disagrees with me. Maybe I am sensitive. We all have personal faults, and yet a lot of you will continue to act like you don't That's fine. It's not my life.

Although I agree with using the appropriate difficulty, when battling foes like Mirrak or Harkon, I'd have to disagree with having it on for every single battle. The game is too large and lengthy for such an act IMO
Also getting the most for what you paid for is subjective. For eg. If you buy a $5 DVD, does it instantly entitle you to watch every single special feature and the movie in every single audio and subtitles? - Mar 3, 2013 1:24 am GMTheartherevenge posted...

No incentive? How about paying the game developer for their efforts?
I know nothing about making games, but just thinking of all the elements involved -- music composition, voice acting, programming, writing, editing, etc. -- it's a huge undertaking, and the people involved deserve to be paid for their work, if you are partaking of their efforts.
I've never understood arguments like yours. I got this game on sale for $40 but still would have considered it a bargain at full price. But whatever. - Mar 3, 2013 5:27 am GMTaneed4peed posted...

You are free to say that. Honestly, every game is easy once you have played it enough. It also depends on which DMC game you are talking about (I am speaking about DMC1 and DMC3, not the new DmC)
I did, in fact, play them on the hardest difficulties. Hell, I can even prove it.
My PSN ID is xLionhartx
I have the platinum trophy for Bayonetta, the platinum for DMC1, platinum for DMC3, and the platinum for Bioshock on Survivor with no vita chambers. Go check if you want.
Just because someone likes a challenge doesn't mean they want it all the time. This game is the only exception for me.
Just because you run a marathon doesn't mean that, when you get home, you're going to run laps around your house instead of sitting down and watching TV

Creator of the popular Ameno Sagiri and Friends - Mar 3, 2013 8:31 am GMTTC, I'm curious. Without answering with a wall of text (because I'm lazy and don't feel like reading). What did you think would happen when you made this topic?
I would predict 3 types of posts before you even made the topic.
1) A bunch of people troll you for playing on the easiest difficulty (Most likely)
2) People agree with you. (Yup, me too... no discussion)
3) Total indifference... "Cool Story Bro."

Somewhere between 1 and 2.
Some amount of 3 is always a given with any topic.

I'm quite literally replaying the DMC games through the HD collection and gearing up for DMD mode, just finished off the GOW series(again) on the hardest mode in each game, etc etc.
I find this pleasure of me being a "God amongst men" in Skyrim to be quite strange, hm glad I'm not the only one brother

Not because it is difficult. If you have the best equipment and you have a crapload of potions you will never die. Also if you are skilled as well and have powerful attacks.
I beat every DMC on Dante Must Die, I've beaten Bioshock on survivor with no vita chambers, Bayonetta on hardest difficulty, every Metal Gear on hard and with no alerts, etc. etc. I LIKE challenge. I LIKE hard games. I love them in fact.
But when it comes to games like Fallout or TES I always play on the lowest difficulty because I like being the traveler that has power. Sure, you can still be extremely powerful with enchantments and play on master and still be a bad ass but that isn't enough for me.
It's like I want every ounce of power I can get right from the get go.
And it is only with these games that I do that. It is very strange...
i get it. i play on easy as well. i tend to play games on normal, rarely on hard. i dont care for challenge or the satisfaction of beating a game on the hardest difficulty, i just dont care for that. thats me tho, and i get why some if not most ppl would feel differently. to each their own.
