I got this idea after finishing my last character to 81. Its called a real role play. Basically the idea is this. Play Skyrim like your a real person. You have to sleep each night, eat food, not fast travel, and behave like a somewhat normal person. To show what its like I will blog each game day here.

I'm playing as a Female Redguard named Shavina

    Day 1
After leaving Helgen I stumbled on an iron mine going to Riverwood. From there I managed to find an axe and a hunting bow. I also found some amythest in a chest guarded by soem bandits. There was a back way out that opened up right behind Riverwood.

In Riverwood I helped out the blacksmith. At one point he left me alone at the forge and I was tempted to steal some of his steel ingots but I decided it wasn't worth it. In return for helping the smith, he let me keep a dagger and a hide helmet. He also offered me some supplies so I took three healing potions. The last thing he asked is for me to warn the Jarl of Whiterun about the dragon that attacked Helgen.

I left for Whiterun and was able to shoot down an elk on the way. I was also attacked by a wolf who was trying to steal my dinner.

It was twilight when I arrived at whiterun so I went directly to the inn. I bought some salt to cook my venisin with and bought some bread and grilled leeks for dinner. The redguard server offered me a drink so I had that too.

Before bed I sat by the fire and spoke to the local nords. One is having trouble with a bard hitting on her and the tavern owner told me there was a warrent for a bandit leader at Moonshine camp. I think I'll go there tomorrow.

    Spent one perk in blocking

    Day 2

Nearly forgot why I was in whiterun. Told the Jarl to send help to Riverwood as requested. He introduced me to the court wizard who wanted me to find the dragon stone. I decided I will do this after I take care of those bandits.

On the way to the bandit camp I ran into a Kajhit selling skooma. I declined his offer and was surprised when he didn't try to kill me for saying no. I also wasted all my arrows trying to hunt an elk. He didn't get away becuase the road shortly ended at a crypt ith skeletons that attacked me. I got a new bow and some arrows and also an elk (it wandered near some giants so I had to be careful getting it).

Later at the bandit camp I ran into trouble with some archers on the outside and had to use 2 of my health potions. Everything went well besides that. I returned to white run and set off for riverwood.

Arrived at Riverwood but the inn doesn't have anything to cook my venison with. I visited the blacksmith to use his kitchen and ate with them. Back at the inn I listened to soem music before bed. The bard wants me to send a phoney letter to a local girl. I think I'll warn her about him in the morning before going to Bleakfalls Barrow.

1 perk spent in archery (damn elk getting away all the time!)

    Day 3.

Busy day. After waking up I stopped by the general good store to tell the girl about the letter. While there the shopkeep explains that he was robbed and the theives went to bleak falls barrow. what a coincidence. Nothing out of the ordinary happens on the trip over or going through the dungeon (most people know your attacked by bandits on the way over).

Returning I let another elk get away but ran into a hunter and bought some pheasent so it balanced out. Used the leather I was accumulating to upgrade my armour (im going light imperial for now) and some iron to upgrade the ancient nord axe I picked up in the barrow. Uneventful return to whiterun.

At whiterun everyone is alerted to a dragon attacking western watch tower. Even though its late now you wouldnt go to sleep at a time liek this. I go fight the dragon, nearly getting BBQed in the process. Uneventful return to whiterun.

So I finally get to the in at 12:00am and am avoiding the redguard waitress becuase the Alikir are looking for her. But she just has to offer me a drink once I sit down so i tell her whats going on and trigger the quest. I eat the pheasent and go to sleep.

Two perks spent in onehanded one in blocking.

Day 4. Roriksted is Really Far Away!
I decided that the redguard woman's story doesn't make much sense since she said the other Redguards were after her for the Thalmor. Normally Thalmor come get you themselves and dont like any of the races of men. Before I leave for Roriksted to turn her in I do meet with the prisoner just to get as much info as possible. Since he doesn't say anything to change my mind I am off too Roriksted.

On the road there I run into a unique random encounter with a man, his wife, and a body guard who are off to a wedding. I never seen this before, but if you talk to the man you get two options "Enjoy the wedding" or "I'll steal your wedding gifts now". Since I think I'm a good person I just told them to enjoy the wedding.

*8 Wolves later and I run into Mai'k the Liar. He talked a lot about snow and butterflies in Skyrim. Shortly after this I arrive in Rorikstead and inform the redguards. All that just to turn around and go back.

One the way back I ran into the old orc who wants to die (right next to Mai'k I might add). I decide to fight him since its been a boring day. I also ru into a nobel ridding a horse on the way home (as in the inn I been sleeping at most nights).

Its dark when I get in but I sfeel I have enough time to have dinner and lead the redguard woman to the capture site. I do this and go back to the inn. I still have the golden claw from bleakwater basin and think I will return that tomorrow.

    Day 5.
Returned the gold claw first thing in the morning. In Riverwood I realized I forgot to report to the Jarl that the dragon was dead so I ran back to do that. On the way I was attacked by a Dark Brotherhood Assasin. After talking with Jarl I am sent to meet with the graybeards.

Several interesting things happened on the road to Ivengaard. First, I ran into the guy from the (Spoilers) dark brotherhood mission where you kill the Gourmet. apperently you can find the guy who knows who the Gourmet is out on the road gathering ingredients. That was new to me.

Second, SABER CATS EVERYWHERE!!! One actually killed me (first time since I started) in an absolutly epic match where we both killed each other at the same time (another first for me). Fortunatly there was an autosave right before so I won the tie breaker.

Third, Right before sundown I ran into a guy who said we was attacked by bandits, but he leads you to the bandits and you have to fight the whole clan. In the fight I actually managed to kill the guy who pretended to be attacked by making him fall off the mountain.

Its Dark now so I'm actually going to camp where the bandits were. Instead of using my own food for dinner I had some of the bandits' seared slaughterfish. They wont be needing it anymore.

    Day 6. Trollolololol

Cotinuing on to High Rothgar I was able to stop at Iversted by early morning (I usually wake up at 6:00a). I bought a lunch at the inn and was about to acent the 7000 steps when I met a guy who was going to climb up to make a delivery (this side-quest was new to me). I offered to do it for him.

there was a bear nearby so I tried hunting it. Big mistake, it was too powerful so I ran back to iversted and the whole town came to my rescue. I'll have to do make sure I return from high rothgar to save face.

Climbing was uneventful, some wolves and the frost troll thats always there (I bashed him and ran away). After making my delivery and training with the graybeards I climbed back down, dodging the troll (who in their right mind would really try to fight one of these guys?). I'm back to Iversted by 4:00p and am paid a whopping $500 for the delivery. I feel I have enough time to at least make half the trip to whiterun before nightfall but I take another road that seems more direct.

I run into another troll , a saber cat, and a hostile dark elf on the way back and make ti to whiterun before dark. I plan on going to morthal tomorrow and retreiving the horn of Jorgen windcaller tomorrow.

Spent one perk in power bash

    Day 7 - A New Friend

After waking up I made my way to Morthal which is right next to the tomb or Jorgen Windcaller. There were no roadsigns so I wasn't even sure I was taking the right roads. On the way I got to experience to food chain. There was an elk being attacked by wolves, I tried to attack the wolves, but then a dragon flew by so I jet.

Also on the road I rain into Mai'k on the same stretch of road as before. I talked to him but cant remmeber what he said. I also found an outdoor ruin with a puzzle that opens a trap door to a treasure chest. This is new to me, I tried a few random combinations (there was no clues about hwo to open it at the site) and gave up.

Later I crossed robber's gorge. Its really intimidating to cross at a low level and almost paid the toll but I ran past it. Probably not the smartest choice but I made it ok. Oh yea and a giant with a cow spawned right on top of me so I kept running.

Just before reaching Marthal I found a dog named Meeko. I knew about Meeko from being on the forums but never found him before. I'm letting him tag along becoase his owner died to Rockjoint and who doesn't love puppies? He's actually pretty good at fighting and took out a lot of enemies for me outside Jorgen's tomb.

The tomb itself was pretty standard with nothing worth reporting. I almost decided to camp the night outside but I had time to get back to Morthal. Pretty lucky since it started to snow.

The Inn was interesting. When you rent a room you get a double bed. Also the orc bard is pretty funny and told me to visit the bard's college. I asked around about the burnt house a bit , one girl is kind of creepy/rude about it (I know she's a vampire, but if I didn't like my character I knwo I would think somethings up).

Your nearly unspoiled outlook is refreshing. Just reading this... very pleasant. Reminds me how I used to play.

I REALLY enjoy this topic. I plan on reading whenever I see it. Might be boring for you, but including (at least memorable) meals would be interesting for me. Like if you get some more seared slaughterfish. :p

Also, unmentioned here... are you only leveling when you sleep? Seems you picked up a few perks on day three.

You've also inspired me to go back to playing this style (with my next character). Also, I'm wondering about long term goals etc.. Shavina may have.

And a pic if possible would be GREAT.

I'm demanding, but only because this is awesome. :p

    Once again, thanks for this.

Day 8. What the heck did I do to deserve this?

This was really one of those days where nothing to out of the ordinary happens. On the hike back to river rood to get the horn from whoever stole it from the tomb I had to cross robbers gorge again. With Meeko I was feeling more confidant in taking them on but also becuase they seemed prepared for my return and were agro as I approached. Sadly my first attempt didnt go so well and a bandit cheif broke through my sheild and killed me. A quick reset and I was back there again and managed to win.

On the road back I ran into two assassins at different times and its left me thinking, what did I really do to deserve this? I get to riverwood and since theres not much time to do anything else I sell all the items I picked up since day one around town. I don't pick up much, meat and pelts from animals and better sheild/war axes if I find them and I aslways ditch the old ones in this case. I'll also pick up coins and jewels from treasure chests but thats about it. My current goal is to save up enough money to buy the house in whiterun, but that will take a while since so far I have just over $1000.

I ate at the inn in riverwood before paying for the attic room. I just ordered cooked beef, bread and an apple today. I dont like that a lot of the inns don't have places to cook food. I even had to sell soem venison and rabbit because in my mind it would have gone bad by now without cooking. Kind of a waste when you think about how many arrows I waste on those elk.

I usually level up once I can and include it at the bottom of days if I do. I am only level 9 since a lot fo the time its smart to just run from fights. My current goal is to buy the house in whiterun, but as for a direction with the character I really am just doing what I probably would do. I'm not seeking out any specific guilds or anything like that. My only other goal is how I build the Shavina. I want to focus on skills I didn't use in any of my earlier playthoughs, with my main focus being on blocking and insane amounts of stamina without much health (should make things realistic).

    Perk spend on light armor

Day 9 I do half your work for you and now you dont want it?

(This day actually was actually played Wednesday morning and I havent had time to update so my memory is a little fuzzy)

So my day started off buying food for later, I normally do this and its usually bread, cheeze wedge and an apple. The plan was to march with Delphine to take on the dragon that will spawn near windhelm.

It was nice to walk with another person. The road felt safer (even though meeko was almost killed by a frostbite spider). On the way I was attacked by a saber cat but I was able to survive relativly unharmed (it wasnt too long ago where saber cats were a big deal). There was one point where Delphine ran off without me so I now have a bit of resentment towards her.

We get to the small mining villiage and faught the dragon. It was easier than I thought but that probably had more to do with Meeko and Delphine. I mainly kept my distance and used my bow (Who in their right mind would try to take ona dragon with a small sheild and a hatchet?)

I decided to stick around the mining village. One guy offered em work mining the Malechite so I did that. I was even nice enough to refine the oar into ingots. But he wouldnt buy them from me. This puts my Real role play into an awkard spot. I want to do the right thing so I dont want to sell them else where, but I also think there has to be something more sensibel than just dropping them in the villiage. I have a day to think about it because a local told me he would teach em some blocking tecniques if I go get his ancesteral sheild. I will do this tomorrow and maybe go after a bandit leader I heard about a few days ago (not sure if I posted it).

Day 10. some things arn't worth it.

I managed to return the lost sheild, but not without a big loss. Day day started off normally enough. Woke up, bought some provisions for the say and set out for lost knife cave. The road was pretty clear on the way over, just some storm cloaks on a bridge.

The cave was full of bandits, relativly high level bandits too, liek thugs, outlaws and plunderers. It wasnt too long into the cave that I found a new Imperial Bow that does more damage than my ancient bow. After that it went down hill.

I continured through the cave and was ambushed by soem bandits. Meeko tried to intervene but was quickly shot by three arrows. I tried my best to avenge him, but one of the bandits was really tough and nearly killed me so I had to burn through a few potions.

In the next area I stopped for lunch and to gather my thoughts about Meeko. I used the cooked beef, cheese and bread to make a sandwich. I pressed on killing every badit I seen. And faught their leader one on one to the death and won.

Leaving the cave I had a random encounter with an afflicted refuge, this was a new experience for me even if he directed me to a daedric quest I have done in other playthoughs. I want to add that these random encounters on the road are whats keeping this interesting for me. I played skyrim since December and becuase I walk on the roads where these things spawn I am experiencing a lot of new to me content.

I also ran into a dead alchemist on the road by the falls. since the situation didnt let me lay Meeko to rest I sent this man over the falls.

Back at the villiage I retuned the sheild and the knot-beard agreed to followme if I wanted him to. I dont think I'll take him up on it becuase if it wasnt for helping him out Meeko would still be alive. I when to the inn, bought a bunch of ale and wine, drank it and went to sleep.

One perkl spent in deflect arrows.
