My first character was once a might warrior who conquered all the foes she faced, but then she stumbled into a den of Volkihar's and they turned her. Disenchanted she abandoned her old life and fell in with the underworld. Through and extremely convoluted and cheesy story arc she decides that even though she's a vampire, she can still be who she was, and so she fights to return to who she used to be, ending the civil war and saving the world in the process. She was my first character when the game launched and ever since I heard about DG I've been incredibly excited.

Thusly I'm excited for Dawnguard, but I have one question. Is it possible to gain the ability to be a vampire lord, but still help the Dawnguard, as realistically that's what this character would do. She'd gain the ultimate power and then use it to crush those who ruined her life. I'm sure it's probably not, I was just wondering if someone here knows for sure.

You would have to ask on the x-box or PC board to be sure.

I think you have to be cured of your vampirism to join the Dawnguard, but after their questline, you may be able to become a vampire lord.

If your a V/VL the Dawnguard will not talk to you or give any quests until you get cured.

You can however become a VL after you complete the questline, but the Dawnguard NPCs still wont talk to you unless it is cured
