I already decided that I am doing an Assassin build (doing Archery and Daggers). I know I want to focus my perk points in Sneak, Archery, One-Handed, Smithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy.
My question is what tree's should I fill first? Is it smart to do smithing right away so I can get the best weapons, or should I focus on raising combat skills directly. I'm thinking about starting with Sneak and Archery primarily, then throwing a few points in One-Handed, and then beginning smithing and enchanting later. Is that a good plan, or will it suck because I won't have good weapons?
Thoughts?

Whenever I start a new character, I tend to reach 100 Smithing asap, then work on alchemy and enchanting for weapons and armor, assuming I'm using a physical weapon for that particular character. After that, I move on to the other "Primary" skills the character will do, but definitely don't neglect your other skills or you'll end up way over-leveled for your combat skills.

Looks like I was wrong, but 3DS accessories will not fit 3DS XL, so it's a waste of money. Good job, Ninty. Way to make the worst revision in history.

Your plan looks good. The right side of the sneak tree is where you'll get your biggest damage and should be a priority. Just have to make sure during those early levels your either keeping perks in archery/one handed or are being very careful and good with your bow.
It can be worth throwing some small enchantment to help out. One point of frost damage on a bow can slow enemies down. One point of fire damage gets that burning effect and keeps trolls under control. One point of absorb stamina on a dagger means you can spam quick power attacks to keep an enemy stunned. And that is all useful and available early and without perks.
Its pretty easy to pickpocket some steel arrows from guards. And if you know/learn how to control your bow bashes you'll have no problem starting just sneak and archery. Probably want to put your first perk or two in overdraw until your sneak skill is high enough for the 3x damage modifier.

VT-14 posted...Grinding non-combat skills have the negative effect of being very inefficient in battle.
not if you grind enchanting.
TC, sneak and enchanting along with archery would be best to focus on and can be easily naturally raised as a stealth char (i'd advise you use your free training for archery).... alchemy next then OH and smithing last...
smithing is almost worthless as you will be mostly improving bow damage through enchantments and sneak... daggers don't need smithing or OH perks when they're doing 30 times damage already.
