Looking around, I see nothing but elk and such, no enemies except for the bear a while back, so I check the pile and find nothing but... a lone chicken breast.
Checking the menu to see where the meat came from, it says "Chicken." I guess it turns out the ash pile belonged to, well, a chicken. That happened to be wandering in the middle of the woods? With no landmarks or enemies around. WHY WOULD THAT HAPPEN?
EDIT: Well, I didn't notice the thing next to the chicken pile: a barrel with a chicken's nest sitting atop it, large ribcage wrapped around it, a bloody skull hanging off of it, and a small crate with a soul gem, a giant's toe, chicken eggs, and... jesus christ, this is odd.
I picked up the eggs out of the crate, then harvested the nest for one last egg, and purple glowing happened around this little shrine I've stumbled upon, and chickens appeared, or resurrected, or something (assuming their corpses were already there and just blended in with the forest floor to where I didn't notice them--it is nighttime, after all). I don't get it?
EDIT 2: Well, upon searching, I guess it's just an unmarked little chicken altar for no reason. Still neat, though!
