Mod to reduce lag?

I've found several settings changes that improve frame rate, but prevent me from seeing enemies a ways away from me, and I mean I basically can't use bows effectively because i'm close enough to be detected by the time I can see my foes.

So, is there an actual mod, not combination of settings changes, but a mod, to improve frame rate? I'm already on lowest settings, and still getting a bit of lag.

And while on the subject of lag, why do I have to hold my attack button to swing my sword at all? is that a lag issue, or something? Because when I click my M1 or my right trigger, i have to hold it for a half a second to actually swing.

The above *may* help your game use your system resources more efficiently. Can't say for sure, but worth looking into.

This one ^ has done well for me as well.

The swinging thing, I would guess it's lag related. There shouldn't be a delay for a non-power attack. If it's more than one device that does it it's probably lag.

You are lagging so much that you have to hold the attack button for it to register, and at the same time it registers as a power attack because you held the button.

Reduce resolution further or maybe use DDSopt to batch all textures to 32 x 32.

It's like asking for magic. There's just so little you can do if you're already running at the lowest settings.
