Granted, I love the game and still play it. But I remember when I thought these graphics were so cutting edge. Then I ran Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 Beta on Ultra. Ohhh boy. Now those are some fantastic graphics. Skyrim is still a FAR better game then Far Cry 3. Can't say the same about Crysis 3 since it hasn't been released, but I expect Skyrim to far outshine that game as well. Anywho, just thought it was interesting. I have all the upgrade graphics dlc and mods and don't really notice a difference. I'm running on ultra as well. GeForce GTX 680, 16gb RAM, I7 1337k processor.

With the right mods I don't think this game can be surpassed yet. Have not played crysis 3 yet but skyrim def looks better than farcry and farcry is a damn fine looking game.

Farcry has realistic textures, weather, and the scenery(grass, leaves, terrain, etc) is not stiff like in Skyrim. The grass and trees in farcry move according to wind and other forces. In Skyrim, the plants just warp a bit.

Lol, it's not opinion, it's fact. Look at comparison videos. I'm a Computer Science Major and I know what to look for when it comes to graphic quality. The overall detail and textures are far better in Farcry.

Also anecdotal evidence from Jan 2, 2012 is useless. If a comparison is to be made, it should be done with the latest modifications. Not those released less than two months from launch. Stay in school, son.

One thing I did notice with Far Cry 3 is that it has horrible textures for the NPC's. I know they're not very important people but man it sure was ugly having to talk to people outside of the main questline. Also some of the other textures like buildings and foliage aren't as nice as Skyrim but then again you need ENB's and graphical mods to make Skyrim look even remotely good. Still waiting to see if I need to update from a GTX 570 to a 670 when Crysis 3 comes out

1. "better graphics" is fairly objective. Texture size, visual effects, etc.
2. "better looking" is subjective. Art direction, personal preferences, etc all affect what one considers better looking.
3. Posting screenshots as proof of a game looking good is dumb. Screenshots always look better than the actual gameplay. It should be video of gameplay to compare, not screenshots.
Skyrims problem is the world is too static. The environment is immobile. Games like Crysis allow for destructible physics based environments. Trees can be cut exactly where you hit it, foliage reacts to character movement, buildings can fall apart, fluid has actual physics, dynamic injuries, etc.
Crysis 2 with Blackfire 2 is better in every way than skyrim.

That said, I love the atmosphere of Skyrim and gameplay of Skyrim much more. But there's no way in hell Skyrim (even with all the best textures and ENB/lighting mods) is the best game graphically out there right now.

I believe the words he said were "WITH THE RIGHT MODS" Vanilla Skyrim has xbox ported textures and a gray-bland tone to it. With the right texture packs, enbs, ect. This game (IMO of course) does look better than Far Cry 3... Still I looooove Far Cry 3's graphics =)

Anybody know what all mods/ENBs are being used there? I'm putting together a new gaming rig next week, wanna see if I can get it up to 10 FPS looking like that.
