I woke to find myself alone in the tent, I rolled onto my back, forgetting that Zoe more or less peeled it off. The pain woke me up completely. I somehow managed to get up and dress myself despite the pain, then Zoe cartwheeled into the tent and pounced on me, sending me to the ground.

"OW!"

"Oh stop being a baby."

"I'm not, you mauled me, remember!?"

Zoe flipped me over and looked upon her handiwork.

"I'm sure you've suffered worse."

"Yeah, but that's not the point." I got up and rumaged through a barrel, looking for food.

"So," Zoe said playfully. "Where are we going?"

"Anvil, we can stop at Kvatch, if you'd like."

"Sure."

We ate the little food we could find and made our way back the road. After a while Kvatch was in sight, and then a khajiit clad in glass armor and weilding a large ebony battle axe came out from behind a rock.

"Your money, or your life!"

I was ready to shout this idiot into the ground, but Zoe started skipping merrily towards him. The furball was confused, but as Zoe got closer, he realized her intent. Before he could swing, Zoe grabbed the axe's handle and kneed the highwayman in the groin, and followed up with a headbutt. Ripping the axe away from the now stunned opponent, Zoe backed up, and cleaved the bandit's legs off in one mighty swipe!

I moved in, and Zoe buried the battle axe into ground as the bandit tried to crawl away. I readied a spell to finish him off when Zoe grabbed one of his legs and struck him over the head with it multiple times until he finally died.

"That was..."

"Incredible, I know." Zoe said smuggly.

"You'd best keep that dog on a leash, Loki, she might bite someone.." A sudden, familiar voice said from behind me.

"How long have you been following us, Lamae?" I turned to see her, and she still had the same look in her eyes. Cold, uncaring. No emotion at all, save for the faint glimmer of rage.

"Not long, I was originally following the treehugger that your puppy killed. And by Shor's beard, Loki, that must have been painful."

"Your name..." Zoe said with a sneer. "pale, brooding, and those eyes... You're that Lamae aren't you? Did my performance remind you of anyone?"

I noticed Lamae's fist curled up into a fist for a second. She looked at me, as if asking for something. I shook my head ever so slightly, which translated to "No, you can't break her face." She sighed.

"I doubt I'm the only one who's been following you two."

"Your right, attacks have been getting more frequent and some of the s*** the Thalmor throw at me is pretty damn ridiculous. In the Imperial City, I was nearly choked to death by an Igma, AN APE!"

Zoe and Lamae spoke in unison. "You liked it!" They looked at each other, and scowled.

I laughed hysterically. And then I took a mace to the spine, reopening some of the still-healing lacerations on my back. I hissed and got back up.

"Why do I put up with you lesser mortals?"
