does the stuff from hearthfire apply to regular homes?

    can I put children and staff members in my regular house? Or does it apply only ot the new 3 hearthfire houses?

    You can have children in your old houses by purchasing a child's room from the steward of whatever city you're in. The child's bedroom usually replaces your alchemy lab though.* Everything else from Hearthfire (stewards, bards) are not available in old houses.

    *In Hjerim you can add a child's room without replacing anything. I don't know about all the other houses.

    proudspire also can accomodate kids without replacing.

    i believe honeyside replaces the arcane enchanter.
