Are you ever afraid dat if everyone uses sola powa dat tha sun wil run out? - Dec 12, 2012 7:08 pm GMTIt's decent, but compared to a combination of several mods and how incompatible it is with a lot of mods (not to mention, the new update will most likely require you to make a new game) it's just... generally inferior.

- Dec 12, 2012 7:30 pm GMTI use SkyRe with over 70 other mods and the incompatibilites are minimal. I really love the new perk system, but what combination of mods would you reccomend that surpass SkyRe?

ACE, ASIS, Duel
These are basically character gameplay enhancements. You can add a lot of various mods to make other areas of gameplay better too (obviously). Check the Mod Recommendation topic (though it is far from finished yet).

I skimmed over the description and it seemed like a mod many people would love here (it also seems like it would be 0% compatible with SkyRe). I never see it mentioned, though.

It's basically oldschool styled. So no easy health regen and all that stuff Bethesda put to get a "wider audience". Long story short, it makes the game much harder than vanilla for a more satisfying experience. You could always just play Demon/Dark Souls though...

I wouldn't consider it old school, just insanely, brutally, intensely, challenging almost to the point of masochism.
While I agree vanilla Skyrim is pretty easy even on the hardest difficulty, there's a gigantic amount of middle ground between it and Requiem. - Dec 12, 2012 8:45 pm GMTPersonally I didn't like skyre cause I don't like having to start up skyrim with SKSE if I can help it. That and having to restart my file to use it and then when I wanted to uninstall it because it was incompatible with basically every mod I wanted to use. There was so much changed in my game files it was simpler to erase everything and reinstall skyrim than read through all the steps of uninstalling it and praying I don't screw one up. That said the new perks and race abilities were amazing and worth it if you can bring yourself to sacrifice most other mods. it's a tough choice, the author really should work on that instead of making his mod so demanding since it is such a great mod.

Requiem is hard (but fun) at low levels but like anything that delevels enemies it gets very easy lvl 20+. There's the occasional high level dungeon that's still tough but those are rare and most of the time you just end up walking through a dungeon 1-shotting everything. So you end up starting a new game to get the challenge back.
The only mod I've found that does a good job keeping the high level gameplay challenging is High Level Enemies (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27866). - Dec 13, 2012 12:28 am GMTDalquist posted...

High lvl enemies is great! my lvl 75+ Nord got 1 shot by a bandit chief this morning at the Valthiem(sp?) keep.. was a total wtf moment. i do highly recommend that mod now. - Dec 13, 2012 1:00 am GMTWhy would we all need to agree SkyRe is inferior to anything? Are you looking for confirmation that your opinion isn't wrong or something?
I just don't get the purpose of threads like these. You aren't asking for alternatives, you're basically saying "I would rather use other mods and I want someone to tell me it's okay."

"Whatever blows your hair back" - Dec 13, 2012 1:33 am GMTSomehow , you might have to look at other mods just to know which suits you better.
I have to admit, I like some parts of Skyre, i.e. racial abilities, perks, enemies difficulty, and and new spells.
However, such a shame I cannot use only part of them, like perks only or spells. - Dec 13, 2012 4:38 am GMTno. I believe you (all) are hating it because its popular, and as such should be ashamed.
