Giant Slaying?

So, the first time I ran into a giant right after Whiterun, I was all like: Oh ya, I'm BA cuz i beat a dragon, these guys will be easy. Next thing I know: I go up to it, slash it a couple times, it turns around hits me with its club, and if I hadn't turned off the Xbox, I'm sure I woulda flew all the way to Solitude.

So, the main question is: How the heck do I kill these things?

A lot of times, giants will be with their mammoths near rock clusters. Certain rock clusters are jutting out of a sloping hill, or leading up a mountain. I cant give a specific location of these rocks, but the giants aren't able to get on those rocks, which is good news. so stand on the rocks, keep the giants at bay( they'll try to run off somewhere, so step off the rocks for a sec to get them back), level up a bit cuz it helps a lot, and make them wish they never messed with the Dovahkiin.

You need to be a higher level probably, i didn't try facing a giant until i was lvl 10. Facing a giant even then is not recommended they hit really hard I'm now 33 and i have to sneak attack and stay out from in front of them.

Level up. These guys start at like level 38 so either be ultra clever.. (sneak, arrows, poisons and immortal followers) or level up the old fashioned way

The answer above is exactly true I killed over 6 giants and 9 mammoths that way. That is the best way possible.
