Skyrim as a hole was a massive disappointment, I hope the come back with a new one on the new consoles and create something special like oblivion was.
Bhah! I was, at first, interested, in the reasons of the odd commenter denouncing Skyrim as a disappointment. But if you're basing that to say that Oblivion was the role model to follow, then forget about it. I still don't how much Skyrim takes and doesn't take from Oblivion, but blimey, THAT game was the disappointment, to me.
Not that it wasn't addictive, I spent lots of time on it. But ultimately I always had a bad taste in my mouth as a side effect. The characters, as in theirs models, animations and voicing... very sub-par, way I see it. The sandbox world with lots o' quests, with homes in many towns and being able to mount, that was novelty to me and kept me hooked. Shooting a bow and some spells. The rest though, bah, overrated.
