Anybody fought any yet? What level exactly do they start to show up, I'm a 71 and haven't ran across any yet.

I used my level 81 character on the DLC (as Dawnguard) and as soon as I finished the main quest, I did a side mission where I had to go to the college of winterhold. As soon as I got to the courtyard a legendary dragon came and I killed it for the achievement.

I'm level 51 and did the same. I however did not recieve the achievement...

Yea I'm level 50 and have been looking lke crazy to find one am I missing something?

I'm 58, have been playing Dawnguard for about 30 hours now, and have yet to see a single Legendary Dragon. I have even gone out of my way to walk across Skyrim for quests instead of fast traveling, just hoping I see one. NOTHING. I was wondering if maybe they just don't show up until you hit a certain level or something!

I have a lvl 81 char and I fought two in about 30 hours. I don't think there is anything wrong with anyone's game. They are just very rare.

It was the first dragon i came across as soon as i installed the dlc.
Just so everybody knows, they are really really easy to beat, they are a lot easier than ancient dragons because these legendary dragons keep on doing a shout that does TERRIBLE damage, whereas ancient dragons do absolutely nothing but fire breath.

if you go to the college one will show up, i had to go there to buy back and elder scroll i had sold to the bloke in the library. as soon as i got there it showed up.

UESP says they don't show up until your character is level 76.

I think a Legendary can be encountered randomly from level 50 onwards based on my recent gaming session on Skyrim. I'm level 62 and most Dragon Shrines/Walls I have been to have Revered Dragons there now. I'm sure once you reach a certain level then Dragons at shrines are in most cases set to your current level.
Yet all the random fast travel encounters I have had have ranged from Dragon up to Ancient Dragon so who's to say that I won't encounter a Revered or Legendary on my random hopping?
I still have hope that I will encounter a Legendary soon and if not then I can power level to 70 and then just look for one.

I did the Lost in the Ages quest?
I got to the last place the ruins of Balft (sp) ? and a Legendary attacked, they seem to talk alot more than "normal" dragons, saying stuff like ahh Dovahkiin ect.

When I hit level 78 they started showing up all over the place. Until then, I hadn't come across a single one.

Alright im just going to say this once as soon as you download the dlc “DAWNGUARD" they start to appear trust me they are just rear and you have to get lucky i know cause i found one and im a level 55 and my friend started a new account on my peofile and he found one at level 12 i watched it so just wait one will eventually come
