Greg Kasavin takes you inside The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the PC.
I saw the GOTY edition @ Best Buy... I've already got Fallout 3, so why not add another masterpiece to my collection?
@vxlk : where could i find oblivion mods? I always choose the pc version because it is more likely subject to mods and enhancements.
First of all... Your profile picture ois awesome! I think it is from a company that greated games for amiga. As for mods Just go to tesnexus.com, the best site for TES mods morrowind oblivion skyrim
@leontas2007 the company was Psygnosis, who made Agony and the Shadow of the Beast 1,2,3 for Amiga. Wonderful games with awesome music.
Thanks for the info!
@goodbye77 Skyrim looks great, but so does Oblivion. Skyrim benefits itself from newer technology, but you can see in both the effort of the designers. If there is going to be an ES VI, it surely will surpass Skyrim's graphics, but will not demerit the work put in both Oblivion and Skyrim. All in all you cannot only judge a game only by it's looks, but by its guts, by the enjoyment and fun it brings.
@goodbye77 I have to agree you if you are talking about console. However, this is a review for PC version, which you can install lots of mods to enhance graphic. The graphic of modded Oblivion even surpasses Skyrim's.
I might buy this game now. After I'm bored of this game, which will likely be a very long time then I'll get Skyrim because that comes out in a few days.
I miss reviews like this, where it's like a chat from one gamer to another, showing the real experience that the reviewer has of the game after spending hours and hours on it, rather than the reviewer spending more time in a dictionary trying to fill a finely-tuned review with clever vocabulary.
Are you serious, how did the PC version get a lower rating than the 360 version. Somebody's on crack.
I didnt think i would like fantasy games but i wanted to try one everyone said try oblivion and after 115hrs and one playthrough i love it and have not see all the content has to offer will defo get skyrim.
Feel sorry for anyone who has to play this on console. The mods for the PC version exist in their 10,000's and change the game for the better in so many ways! From enemies that no longer level up with you (like Skyrim) has animal factions, so wolves attack sheep (MMM Mod and like Skyrim) it even has a mod that is very similar to the Radiant Story system! Some mods, like a bow mod, have been incorporated into Skyrim as they were so good. So I would say, that because I am playing this on PC with about 100 mods, I am playing a game that is halfway between Oblivion and Skyrim already!
I finally gave this game a chance by playing more than a hour.I'm loving it.I have Oblivion regular edition and now I want the deluxe edition with all the extra content.I'm liking it and can't wait for Skyrim.
Nearly 5 years later and this game is still relevant. That alone speaks volumes. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim game of the year!!!
Can't wait for Skyrim. Oblivion is one of my favourite games and hopefully it will keep me distracted until 11/11/11.
I have this game but never played more than a hour or so.I've heard it's a great game.Does it take awhile to get good or what's so great about it.
I'm utterly lost for words. I bought Oblivion when the GOTYE came out and its still my favorite game. I have done ever quest and cave i can find and I'm still not bored. Utterly Amazing!
I just watched the review for Morrowind. Greg has gained some weight and lost some hair since that review lol.
I remember getting a new pc first thing I was exciting about was finally being able to run Oblivion. Such a stellar game, can't wait for the next installment.
OBLIVION and FINAL FANTASY VII are way up there as the two best games i have ever played, to date. Genius.....When we seeing V?
One of the best games I have ever played. I got it 4 days ago, I have hardly been off it since. Unbelivably good game.
Let me get this out of the way, I LOVED THIS GAME, and I mean it, I played it for months even years, and still couldn't put it down, and the mods just added to the awesome, but I kinda got sick of the realm Oblivion, It was cool for the first few times but I saw it so many times I got sick of it, I prefer the green lush lands of cyrodiil it is beautiful, and I hate leaving it for the bloody land of Oblivion.
I had to pay $35 so that I could get this while the price was only $20 and honestly, 3 hours into the game I think I would've payed a hundred extra.
I think that fable original and fable the lost chapters is alot better and oblivion is like a game right next to it
After playing Fallout 3 and going back to Oblivion I can definitely say they are very similar games in terms of gameplay, not setting.
I play this for about 3.5 years and you cant possibly count the user created stuff. If this game has 9.3 rating vanilla(means original with nothing in it like mods) with the mods ohh boy it tops 100.IT WILL SUCK YOU IN AND NEVER LET YOU GO!!!!The only bad thing about Oblivion is that is Loaded with loats of BUGS but these are all solved right now nearly no bugs anymore. The biggest site for Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3. http://tesnexus.com I bet everyone knows it....
