Elder Scrolls Oblivion is a classic example of how role playing games can either be a brilliant experience to play, or not. In the case of Oblivion it is definitely the former. You can spend entire days; even weeks playing the side missions there are, levelling up in the different guilds, while not following the main storyline. You can join the assassin's guild, the thieves' guild, the arena, the fighter's guild, the mage's guild, and so on. Each of these offers you hours of gameplay, and great rewards, but of course, they have a brilliant storyline that each one follows. The graphics are great, immersing you in the game, making each piece of the environment stand out from its surroundings, but at the same time blending in to create a visual spectacle. The combat system is good, where enemies will react to your attacks well, either fleeing to take up positions with the bow and arrow, or bracing their shield for the second attack. The magic works well, either forming a full attack in its own right, or by boosting your power while your weapons do the work. The characters are great, ranging from bitter guards and old people, to vagabonds and thieves, complimented by a good range of voices.
