So after getting spoiled by Skyrim and being able to look at inventories without risk of being caught, I decided to install the Active Inventory mod. Things were going well, until I noticed that certain NPCs (I think the essentials, but I'm not sure) will not lose the items you pickpocket off of them if you cast Active Inventory on them beforehand. So, basically, you can pickpocket the same item forever. They also don't lose their inventory from the spell, and instead double anything they have in their possession if I don't take anything. I tried waiting 3 days in a separate cell to see if that fixed the issue, but it didn't. Does anyone have a similar experience they could share with me, maybe give me an idea of how I can fix this issue? I'd really rather not have NPCs with permanent instantly-respawning items. Thanks for any advice.

You might try All NPCs Killable (
http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/4146) which removes the essential flag from many if not all vanilla NPCs. If it's a bug explicitly with the flag itself then it should fix up the issue. The only downside is that you could potentially nuke some of your quests, but some people don't necessarily see that as a bad thing.
Edit: If it's a bug somewhere else and that mod doesn't do anything to help but you still like killing them all you might look in the comments section of that mod for instructions on making essential NPCs killable without a mod.
